A sad sad Day....

My daughter and I went to Salem, Ma today. Love to go there each year during the month of Oct. to take pictures. My daughter is really into photography like I am.

SO, we are walking along and I manage to find a dip in the sidewalk, stumble a few feet, trying to keep myself from falling but was unable to. Fell to the ground with camera bouncing on the sidewalk!! Now, my 18-55mm lens is TOAST!! It's the only lens I had too.

So, so Very sad!!!

I guess I should happy it's just my lens and not the camera itself!

I am very glad you didn't break something on your body. Very sorry to hear about your lens. DH treasures his Canons and lenses that they are children.

Fortunately you're OK, and the camera body is OK too. Good news is that the 18-55 shouldn't be too expensive to replace - or, you could use the opportunity to upgrade! I haven't touched my kit lens since getting the Tamron 17-50 2.8.

my camera body is okay from what I can tell. MY own body...well...I'm sore...anxious to see how I am in the morning. It is a good thing it's a smaller lens however even replacing this one will hurt my pocket...and I was hoping to get a larger lens for Christmas...not sure if that will happen now! :-(

Sorry to hear that! I am glad that you are ok though. Lenses can be replaced but it is a bummer. When my 50mm stopped working correctly, I remember how bummed I was and it is only $100. Maybe Santa will be good to you.

Hi Andy! I will be okay. Kind of concerned about my neck...we'll see how it is tomorrow. I'm hoping I don't have to wait for Santa...unless he makes a special very early delivery!! LOL

just curious whats your camera ? and have you checked out craigslist for a quick replacement it would be used but possible cheaper as well.
