Once upon a time 4 girls shared a dorm room. One girl was kind enough to bring her sentimental gingerbread house to the dorm room. Upon going away for the weekend, she left other 3 roommates with the the sentimental gingerbread house and instructions that "whatever you do, do not eat it." The other roommates were good for the first day. But, by the second day they looked like vultures. And, by the third day, the gingerbread house was eaten. Hence, they adopted the names Hansel & Gretel (even though there were 3 of them) and despite their apologies the 4th roommate was so upset upon her return that she moved out at Christmas vacation.
The 3 roomates - Hansel and Gretel - returned to the dorm after the holidays. There was a nice sign on the door with the 3 roommates names and a new 4th roommate's name. That name of the new roommate - Cinderella!
This is a true story. I have always laughed about that story, and just realized that the people on this board would probably appreciate it.
We did feel awful about eating the gingerbread house, but to this day I still cannot believe that I got a roommate named Cinderella! (I think her mother was a big fan.)
