a rookie question about t-shirts

I tried this on the DISigners thread and didn't get a response...

This will probably get a few people laughing but when you are done can you post a reply to this question? I see TONS of awesome and creative ideas on all of these boards. My friend and I are taking our daughters to DW as a surprise and want to have clever and creative shirts made for the whole group. If we find a design on these boards, or find some creative DISigner who can create something for us, how do we go about getting it transferred on to a shirt??? Thanks. Like I said, it's a rookie question

Buy t-shirt transfers and follow the directions. There are light transfers (must mirror the image and place on a light shirt) and dark transfers (do not mirror and can go on any shirt). The most important thing is to read the directions for the particular transfers you purchase.

The designer will upload the picture on to the thread; you will then save it on to your computer.

Buy the t-shirt transfers - you can get them at Michaels, Joanns, any craft store - or from a woman on the CreativeDesigns boards, who has really great quality ones. I found that the dark t-shirt trasnfers work best, even on white shirts.

Like the pp said, follow the directions from the package to print the design from your computer onto the transfer paper. Make sure you wash and dry the t-shirts first, too. The package will also tell you how to iron them on to your t-shirt.

The whole process is really quite easy although may sound complicated, and the shirts turn out awesome!
