VISIT: 10th to 24th october, 6 days in Orlando area.
Well, I will NEVER regret we did this trip! Actually it was our honeymoon, and "we" are my wife (30) and myself (31) from Norway.
We had our toughts about the terror, but truly; I have never felt any safer on any other vacation than this one. It was also our first visit to the USA and you are a wonderful people to visit.
We flew out from Norway on the 10th, and landed at Orlando Airport 6.30pm after transfered to Continental at Newark, NJ. The flights went fine! Puh...!
Got our Alamo car, a Pontiac grand am, worked fine all 14 days! And you americans are also very disiplined in the traffic, a true comfort to drive on your roads!
Got safely to our I-drive hotel; Best Western Plaza, and ok stay, no more no less, got a descent price; 42.95$. Later we stayed at Masters Inn for 39 and Country Inn and Suites also for 39. Country Inn was really nice!
We 'only' did two Disney Parks, but also went to USF, IOA and SW.
Our first Disney Park was on friday the 10th. Here is how it looked like in short:
* Arrived about 08.30 at "Pluto" parking spot. Took the tram to Transportatiojn and ticket center, and got our tickets. Then monorail in to MK. An amazing sight to see MK with the tower for the first time, we felt the excitment growing!
* Safely through the extra checks we walked up Main Street, but an stylish gentleman stopped us and said: "WELCOME TO MK HOONEYMOONERS!!!"......................................hmm, it was the Mayor of MK, but how did he know...? I guess he just took a chance, it was at least a truly warm welcome for us that had travelled from Norway.
* Took some pictures and walked to Adventureland. No lines there. Did Jungle Cruise, and the trip had much more "speed" and action that I had imagined. Then Pirates....We were in love with WDW at once, what a fantastic ride! Funny and so well done! We also saw the Tiki...nice and qute.
* Then we headed over to Frontierland. Oh, how we enjoyed the landscape over there!
No lines at Splash Mountain either, things we're going smoothly for us. After SM, over to Big Thunder for a 10 minutes line wait. Very good rides, classics! Also went over to Tom Sawyers Island, for me it was nice to feel the athmosphere from the books I read when I was a kid.
* Liberty Square next, did not go to The President, but waited for 5 minutes in line for Haunted Mansion. IIIIIIIHHAAAAA!! FUNFUNFUN!!!
* Fantasyland next, and the crowds met us. Used FP for Peter Pan, in the meantime we did Small World, approx 15 minutes in line and Lion King. Then PP. Like PP the most of these three. Also got FP for Winnie, and as we waited we saw the 3'o'clock parade, and we got nice places right in front of the castle. We were captured, the atmosphere and everyone was happy, we enjoyed every moment. Then back to the nice Pooh ride, and then over to MTF. We loved the houses of Mickey and Minnie. Strange thing, but we already new that; is that in Norway Donald is the BIG Disney character. Also did Goofeys trup before we went on.
* Tomorrowland. Quite crowdy. Waited in line for 20 minutes for Space Mountain. Amazing ride!! My wife screamed in back of me all the time, I rode front line. Then the Alien Encounter, a bit boring at first, but when the beast broke out.........SCARY!!!
After this we planned to do Buzz, but 50 minutes lines there and we were so tired in our feets, and had experienced so much, Instead we went down to Main Street for some shopping after we took the ferry back to our car. When we saw MK leave us from the boat, we truly knew we had found a new friend for life! WE'LL BE BACK!
