A Rolex Vacation on a Timex Budget: Sept '11 PTR (TR is Live!)

You've hit under the 2 month mark :yay: Your trip will be here before you know it :)

We don't really do packing lists, but we do do a big toiletries shop before we go, new toothbrushes, shampoo etc and also bring over a small chemist of flu medicine etc in case we get sick or need plasters for sore feet/blisters etc

How is your list coming along? Hope your C25K is going well :)

I miss the old narration for Spaceship Earth too, I mean the new one is great too, but the old one holds a special place in my heart :goodvibes

I'm super excited for the Kim Possible missions too! :cool1: I know all four of us will love these, can't wait.

Sorry it has taken me so long to make it back here after your return!

Love your plans so far! I totally agree with everyone who has suggested Columbia Harbor House. In fact, we had lunch there last Wednesday! And they are right about the upstairs seating. I'll have pictures when I get to that in my TR.

I think you will be fine getting on to Soarin and Test Track, especially if you are there at opening. My suggestion is to get a FP first and then ride, so you can get another ride later in the day.

I am prone to motion sickness on spinny rides, like teacups and Astro Orbitor, and I was a little concerned last week because there are a lot of warnings about motion sickness on the rides at US/IoA, but I took a Bonine every day and I didn't have any problems.

But there ain't enough drugs in the world to get me onto M:S Orange!

Wishing you success in your weight loss efforts!

Woohoo on it being two months!!! :dance3:

Lol I already have all our lists done and am ready to get going with the packing! :rotfl: Hopefully I’ll remember the important things.

Hope your A/C does not set you back too much.

Thanks! I went to try and pull up the park hours this morning on Disney's site and it said we have only 59 days left! I cannot believe it's so soon! :cool1:

As for the A/C, thank you. Basically the motor is old and the coils were dirty.... they cleaned it up for only 100 dollars, but we're going to have to replace the motor at some point, which is going to be closer to 2k! :sad1: Hopefully we get through the summer before that happens, because I really don't think we can afford that kind of expense right now (I know, as I plan a silly crazy trip to Disney.... priorities, right? Ha.) It is certainly performing better now, at least... and good thing too, it's supposed to top 100 for the next three days here!:headache:

Yay for 2 months!!! In 2 more weeks, I'll be at 2 months too! :cool1:

I love making packing lists, and yes, I make more than one too, and I constantly revise them! I think the most important thing that I have to bring with me, other than my folder with all of my important documents in it, is...my glasses! If I forget my glasses, I would probably freak out! I'd probably go to a wal mart in FL and order a new pair or something, there's no way I could go a whole week without them! :rotfl:

So everyone gets a good laugh this evening, I'm going to have to post a picture of just how crazy my own form of organization has gotten! :)

I'm so glad you mentioned the glasses, I just realized I need to order more contacts before my prescription expires! Thanks!:thumbsup2

I managed to pack one small bag of toiletries yesterday, so the packing has officially begun now! C25K... hmm... did I mention I'm not a runner?:rotfl: No, no, we started it yesterday, and while I finished the run, both my ankles and shins were hurting. I need to do some serious strength training on my ankles or I'm not going to be able to handle any more than 60 seconds at a time.

Also, this was on a treadmill, and halfway through the workout, my program played a song I didn't want..... when I grabbed my iPhone to change it, the phone went flying off the treadmill, then *I* went flying off the treadmill after it.

Mike had a good chuckle.:lmao:

Is the Pope Catholic? :lmao:

Yes, I make lists. Several, in fact. And the best thing about making lists is marking things off the list! There's something very satisfying in doing that, LOL!

Yes yes yes! I love making those little "checks"! The one list I haven't started yet (which you have, I noticed!:thumbsup2) is the "things to do before the trip". Perhaps I will work on that this afternoon.

Sorry it has taken me so long to make it back here after your return!

No worries at all! I am greatly enjoying reading your TR, sounds like you had a good time, even if it wasn't 100% at WDW!:cutie:

You bring up a very good point. I heard that you didn't have to use the FP at the exact time, or that they don't check?

re: Weight loss, thanks! My next weigh in is on Friday, and I'm both nervous and excited at the same time. We are going to see Sweeny Todd at Wolf Trap Friday night for a little "date" and I'm trying to come up with some super cool, and healthy picnic snacks.... especially because it's an outdoor theater and it's going to be WAY hot this week!

Dear Reader, you already know by now that I love my husband.

Today, however, I kind of want to strangle him. :rotfl2:

He decided last night that it was just not right for us to NOT see Stitch at breakfast on our trip. I tried to explain to him that 2 months out is really short notice to get an ADR for a character breakfast.

Then he brought out the pout.

Now, I should note that I have a pretty darn good pout myself, but he has managed to include PuppyDog eyes into his, which I have not yet mastered, being only a second level pouter myself.

So what have I been doing this morning? Calling Reservations (no luck), emailing YC CL IPO and begging (they are putting me on a waitlist) and trolling the Disboard thread on September cancellations (also, no luck yet).

Oh why oh why did he decide to have an opionion about it all NOW? :confused Doesn't he know Disney doesn't do last minute?:lmao:

Is it Friday yet?;)

LOL...my DH did the SAME thing last year, about 2 months out from our trip, except he wanted a 2nd Le Cellier dinner ADR! I was SO mad!! I was like "do you know how hard that's going to be for me to get this close to our trip" and do you know what he said? "Can't you just call and beg for one and explain how much we like it?" Yeah, sure. :sad2: I ended up finally getting one, for the first night of our trip, which worked out, but OMG I wanted to kill him!!! :rotfl: So I hope you get your ADR!

Yay it's Friday!! :dance3:

Lol at DH saying that at the last minute! Zaheer has said he wants two meals at Sanaa but I have talked him out of it!

Good luck with getting an O'hana ressie :wizard: I have been trying for a dinner ressie for a couple of months and not had much success. I'm sort of giving up on the idea.

I'll throw some pixie dust your way..pixiedust:

Here's some more pixie dust... hope it helps get your ADR! pixiedust:

Thanks everyone! :grouphug:

I am crossing my fingers and hoping for the best! I will keep you up to date if we get the ADR, but all the pixie dust is SURE to help!:wizard:

....had to add that extra C in there because I am CRASHED out on the couch. Ran this morning and whooooo, bad idea. Granted, it was only 10am and the temp was already in the 90s...

Just a little weekend update, I'm still at 157.5, but I have been trying to pay attention to my WW points, so hopefully we'll start to see some movement in the next week or so. The aforementioned run was for day 2 of our program, and I'm happy to say my ankles did NOT hurt as bad as day 1!

Also, even though it was INSANELY hot last night, we went to Wolf Trap and had an amazing time! If you are not familiar with the venue, it is the only National Park for the Performing Arts in the country, and it has this gorgeous theater "under the stars".... and under cover. Sweeney Todd was amazing, Todd and Mrs. Lovvitt were simply fantastic!

Even better, we had our own form of pixie dust! Because it was so hot, a lot of people chose not to go to the show, so I went up and asked the ticket office if there were better seats available. For 30 dollars we were upgraded to the 6th row Center! Being able to see every expression on the actor's faces was just brilliant! :goodvibes

So, other than the pain from running....:rotfl2: I'm a happy camper. I hope you all are having wonderful weekends as well!

Congrats on the run! That takes motivation in the heat. I hope your feet stop hurting so bad.

Oh gosh, can just imagine it in slow mo, phone goes flying and then you dive for it with the "n-o-o-o-o-o-o-o"

Be careful with your ankles and knees, running is not your friend on those areas. Make sure you have good running shoes too :)

Score on getting the upgraded tickets, hope you are keeping well in the heat :)

I just found my way to your PTR and after I saw the title, I had to click, LOL. I love it! Good luck getting your ADR's!!!

UGH! on last minute back seat driving (meal planning) whatever!

My family pretty much stays out of the planning realm.

I hope you get your ADR, but if not, you have so many other wonderful experiences in store, that I don't think it will be missed!

Congrats on the run! That takes motivation in the heat. I hope your feet stop hurting so bad.

Thanks! My ankles are feeling much better now, plus I am adding in on non-run days some Wii exercising. That if nothing else should help strengthen up my weak little muscles!

It really was just like that. Happened yet AGAIN... Mike took me out for some wireless headphones. I think he might have been a bit embarassed by my inability to run and not throw my iPhone around at the same time. I got my revenge though, this weekend he couldn't figure out how to make his treadmill time more than 20 minutes and I had to show him! :rotfl2:

:welcome: Thanks so much for joining in! I should probably change my update from "No, No, Bad Husband..." but it makes me smile every time I look at it! Thanks for the good wishes on the ADR... I'm crossing my fingers and checking daily!

This is a very true statement, we already have such an amazing lineup... I just know that Mike has mostly been "whatever you want baby" to me in every aspect of this trip... so I did want to give him that Stitch experience... even if he DID wait to the proverbial last second. :rotfl2:

Glad to hear that the running is getting better. Don't know how you do it in the heat that you have been experiencing :confused3 :thumbsup2

Yay on getting better seats at Wolf Trap!

Hope your having a good Monday :goodvibes

Well, we are usually either running very early in the morning or on a treadmill in the gym by our house, so it's not that bad....we'll see as today is the first outside day without horrible heat so we'll try an evening run. :goodvibes

So far the week is going well. I'm having a dinner at my house this Friday for some friends, so I'm looking forward to that, but need to clean up first! (the place really looks like a bomb went off in it.....:scared1:)
