Yes, I think it's been the general consensus that I'm an idiot for my original post but thanks for piling on.

I'm with the majority in my opinion about A rod.

One man in baseball I *do* admire is Albert Pujols. From what I understand, he's as much an upstanding guy on the field as he is off.

Great role model? no. Great ballplayer? yes. And he may have been using PEDs, but how many of the pitchers he faced were juicing at the same time? No matter what, the man has hit 600 home runs.

Believe me OP, I'm not piling on you (plus, you seem to have a great sense of humor about this). But I have always had the opinion that athletes, celebrities, politicians, etc. make lousy role models. I admire their talent, but not them. My role models have been my parents & grandparents.

Jim Thome is an awesome man he will never get to 600 but still a great player, great with helping the community.

I also admire Frank Thomas, he was always one to speak up for wanting mlb to do more drug testing in baseball. But I'm a white sox fan so im biased.

I totally agree! I would take Big Al over A-Roid any day! Albert Pujols has said that if he ever tests positive for a performance enhancing drug while playing baseball he would give back every dime he's ever made from playing the game. He's a class act all the way!
