The cast
Me MagicalMom 33yo Disney Lover, Commando girl
DH MagicalDad 34yo Likes Disney, just wants to relax
DD The Teen 13yo Loves Disney, I taught her well
DS The Youth 9yo Loves Mickey Mouse thinks Chef Mickeys is the greatest place ever!
DS The Pre-schooler 4yo Cant wait to get to Disney to see Mickey, Spongebob & Crash Bandicoot! (think I combined too many Disney & Universal trips?)
The pizza they deliver tastes much better than the pizza you pick up.
After heading back to the room for our relaxing break we decided to hit the pool. We loved Ole Man Island at POR. It was really a fun pool!
The Pre-Schooler headed to the kiddy pool with MagicalDad while the rest of us went to the main pool. As we were swimming I kept glancing longingly over to the slide. Children were coming down one after the other. Ughhhh I felt a wave of jealousy wash over me. Oh how I wanted to go down that slide too. I splashed around & played with the kids. come on teen, why dont you go down the slide? only if you do, she replied. Come on Youth, go on down the slide. No, it looks too deep! Why oh why wont they go down the slide, I wanna go so, so bad! If only an adult would go down, Id feel more comfortable. It looks strong enough to hold an adult. I havent noticed any signs about ages or weight limits. I so desperately want to slide down it.
As we swim & splash about I must do what all mothers do at this time of day. Whether on vacation or not all Mommas have to stop daily and think What are we doing for dinner? I know, well order pizza & have it delivered to our room. I mention it to the Youth. No Mom their pizza is horrible. I hated their pizza remember. This is where I lie. I know I shouldnt of lied, but I did. Hmmmm I dont think it comes from the same place if you order it from your room. Oh yes it does! The Teen shouts out. Wink, wink I really dont think so I told her wink, wink. She doesnt get the hint. Yes it does no it doesnt! wink, wink. Eventually I convince the Youth that the pizza we order will be so much better than the pizza he had at the food court.
We head back to the room & order pizza. Just as I though the Youth loved it. Its so much better than the food court pizza.
Exhausted from our afternoon break & belly full of pizza we head to the Magic Kingdom to catch a few rides & see wishes. As soon as we entered the park we realized that our trusty Misty Mate has died. When we pumped it up, we never felt any pressure. I tried & tried to fix it. It was the Misty Mate's second & last trip to Disney. Broken hearted I had to give up & shell out 17.00 for a Disney spray fan. Trust me, it was well worth the money.
Next we rode Pirates of the Caribbean, the Magic Carpet & Its a Small World. Then we headed towards the front of the park to catch the parade & wishes.
As soon as the parade was over the boys were ready to go. Its just the same ole fireworks they had last year! the Youth whined. Yep, the same ones brought tears to my eyes. The same ones that made my heart skip a beat. OK, maybe I exaggerated, but I do love Wishes & insist on seeing it again.
MagicalDad took the boys back to the room. The Teen & I stay to enjoy the fireworks & relax.
While waiting for them to start I notice a cute family next to us. The little ones were so excited about seeing the castle. I remember when mine were like that. When Disney was fun, exciting & new. The look of awe in their eyes as they stared up at the castle.
Then I did it. I regretted it the second I did it. I told the little girl next to me that sometimes, when you look real hard, you may see Tink fly out of the castle. What was I thinking. This wasnt my first July trip. I knew that there is a chance of storms any July day, at any second. Especially with a hurricane of the coast. Chances are Tink wont fly tonight.
Boy was I wrong. Tink flew! Its been years since we had seen Tink fly. The Pre-Schooler would have loved it, but he wasnt even here to see it. Oh, but the little girl next to me enjoyed it so much. I was so glad to see someone who still believes.
Up next, Animal kingdom!
