The cast
Me MagicalMom 33yo Disney Lover, Commando girl
DH MagicalDad 34yo Likes Disney, just wants to relax
DD The Teen 13yo Loves Disney, I taught her well
DS The Youth 9yo Loves Mickey Mouse thinks Chef Mickeys is the greatest place ever!
DS The Pre-schooler 4yo Cant wait to get to Disney to see Mickey, Spongebob & Crash Bandicoot! (think I combined too many Disney & Universal trips?)
The plan for today says Magic Kingdom!
The 6:00 am wake up call must have came & went. I never heard a sound. I probably hit snooze on the alarm clock more times than I can imagine because when I finally noticed it was going off the clock read 7:30!!!! What!!!!!!! MK AM EMH (got that?) begins in ½ an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone up, up, up!!!!! What!!!! The Teen needs to take a shower!!! Huh????
Teen, you know the rules!!! Five of us are sharing 1 bathroom. Girls shower at night, boys in the morning!!!!!
She insists on showering! Ugh!!!!!!!!! What about my plan???? No one seems to care. Looks like there are all well rested though!
When we finally arrive at the front gates of the Magic Kingdom my watch read 8:30. We missed the first ½ of EMH. Lines just to get into the park are super long & growing my the second. All of my commando, err I mean relaxing plans for the day are ruined, absolutely ruined.
Then all 3 children start whining. Cant we go to Epcot? I dont wanna go to the Magic Kingdom, We go to the Magic Kingdom too much, whine, whine, whine The Teen is just whiney. The Pre-schooler is just copying the others so that he can be cool too. The Youth, hes the one that shocks me. For years he has told me that the Magic Kingdom is the Heart of Disney. How can he turn his back on me now? Have they lost the Magic????
So, we hop on the monorail & make it to Epcot just in time for the park to open. Ugh, this really stresses me out. I dont have my Epcot index card in my back pocket. I still have the MK one! I must devise a plan immediately in order to ensure the adequate amount of rest & relaxation required by my family.
As soon as we get into the park we run, fast, to get our Fast passes for Test Track. Good, they will allow us on the ride in ½ an hour. Next we run as fast as we can for Soarin. Almost no line & we walk right on. Then we run all the way back to the other side of the park. Wait until it is time to ride Test Track & quickly grab fast passes for Mission Space before riding. We walk right onto Test track, ride it, jump off & the Teen & I run for Mission Space. They made us stand outside for 3 minutes because we were too early for our fast pass. See thats 3 minutes to relax! As soon as the Teen & I jumped off Mission Space we ran to look for MagicalDad & the boys.
MagicalDad was quietly resting on a bench. But where are the boys? Oh my words! There they are soaking, sopping, wet jumping around in the fountain! Ugh! Okay, fine, cant let this situation allow me to skip a beat. I instruct MagicalDad to run & get on Mission Space while the Teen & I watch the boys.
I ever so gently scold the boys for knowing better than to get so wet. What was Magicaldad thinking? We all sit on a bench to relax for a minute. About 30 seconds into the minute the boys begin to whine & cry Why cant we get wet? Everyone else is? I hate epcot! Please Mom??? I listen to the whine for about 30 seconds before giving in. Fine, Go, get wet!
Once theyre off splashing around I realize how much more relaxing it is for them to go get soaking, sopping, wet. Now I realize what MagicalDad was thinking!
By the time MagicalDad is off of the ride, everyone is wet, tired, hot & grouchy. We are back to POR by 1:00 for a quick lunch in the food court & a relaxing swim.
