A really basic "Open Windows" question

I've been on the internet with a dial-up connection for almost 4 years. After a while I learned to have several windows open at the same time. I leave them all maximized and just click between them using the bottom task bar.

Here's my question: Should I be minimizing them first before jumping to a new one? I usually click on something and then go to another window while the other is loading. I wouldn't have thought of this but my kids all minimize -- it's something they taught at school.

There's no need to minimize them first, you can just jump between them at will.

There should be any need to minimize. It's just your preference.

I don't minimize them first. You shouldn't have to.

I guess I have Spring Fever. When i saw this post I thought it was about opening the windows in your home. We had our windows open all weekend.
