My DH said the same thing, then added "Well the wheelchair was awesome to have on our trip" I told him he is more than welcome to break a leg :duck: I am very thankful my dad is sober and back in my life, new and improved Grandpa, and the kids love him so much! We only have him and my DMIL (my birth mother or Momster as I refer to her is nonexistent and I am fine with that)

:goodvibes It was great!!! Poor DH didn't get home until 9pm, poor guy. Then he wanted to chat, and I was ready for bed..:(

 SO excited!!!

Feel free to plan the Great Nana Chrissy Kidnapping, I AM IN :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

The girls were so upset no Grandpa on their birthday or their shows. My dad was thrilled, I never told him I changed from August...DUH :lmao:

You can pool hop between, and I am glad you refreshed my memory Heather!!! Thank you for the pic :cloud9:

:cool1: Thanks!!! It feels like forever since our last family trip...the nerves are kicking in!!:upsidedow
I think it is just wonderful your kids have their Granpa in their lives. Both my grandfathers died before I was born.

Christine might have my number not sure.

BTW I agree it is Brian's turn to try the wheel chair :rotfl2: :p
:rotfl: If Brian was injured, UGH!! Can you imagine, picture Bob hurt since they are so alike :scared: All my grandparents have passed. My grandparents raised me, they were able to meet DS21 and DS12 at least so they did get to be great-grandparents!!!

Sheila, our number is locked in my frozen laptop which will not turn on. :( All of my addresses and phone numbers are frozen ... Please pm it to me again? Starting a new addess/phone number folder in this iPad. :thumbsup2

Pas...next Thursday!!!:cool1: :yay: pixiedust:
We need a plan!! Janet and kook did a great job posting pics....but I definitely want to keep Sheila in the loop. I have to re-enable my PMs maybe...or you or Janet can forward Sheila my cell :grouphug:

Jeanette I was ready to kill Bob on our last trip cause he refused to rent a scooter and had to stop and rest at every bench or wall as his back and hip was hurting. Now his knees are bothering him too :scared: I swear I might end up running him over if he is stubborn about getting a scooter again.

Christine will PM you. I lost so many numbers when my old phone bit the dust

Posting from my phone while eating at Chic-fil-A (right off of I-95).....random this is, I know....but saw a family come in with 6....yes 6 kids. I could tell they were on their way somewhere....had that happy yet frazzled look. Then when they started talking I knew they weren't from these parts... Being the curious person that I am, I had to ask them where they are headed and where they are from....of course Stephen is totally embarrassed. Well, they are from upstate NY headed to WDW for their very first trip. .....I was so thinking of your family Jeanette. Their kids looked to be about your kids age.

Like I said....random. But made me think about yall and your very soon to be vacation!

Now back to eating my sandwich....

I love this (were you near Pooler:scratchin). I love when I think I've spotted another family heading down to WDW at the same time:hyper:. Usually the NJ and NY cars are passing us:duck: and they might have the Mickey antenna topper or stickers. On the way back up from WDW, everyone looks sad and tired:(

Jeanette: Have you thought about packing BEFORE the day you leave or do you not want to break with tradition?

Are you kidding me??!!! You know where Pooler, GA is??!! And yes, that's exactly where I was! Faith has cheer practice there and the boys taekwondo is nearby, too. Tons of travelers stop by for a quick bite. I'm like the Chic-fil-A Stalker...love people watching there. I'm there every week...sad but true

I got you now my pretty :rotfl: Sorry, couldn't help myself...

I reminded Brian how annoying it was to push me around, but he liked the super secret entrances. I even told CMs I could walk a bit, but they insisted. It really was better I got the wheelchair, BUT I like not having anything broken...speaking of husbands, Brian had a fever last night (the virus we all had last week I am sure) and he said I didn't give him any sympathy:rolleyes2

:rotfl2:DS12 AKA The Great BRANDONi ;) was asking to pack yesterday. WHAT??? I might let him, he really wants to get ready. Me ...I am working a 24 hour shift Wed. into Thurs. I get out at 6pm, home by 7pm on the road for 9pm I can do it!!! :faint:

For our POR reservation we are looking at alternatives.....offsite, well kinda. Either Wyndham Grand Orlando with club level, or Bonnet Creek. It is the same price as one POR room...And more space! The Grand Orlando room has bunks and 2 Queens, lots of room :badpc:

I did the wheel chair when we went to DL and also in 2009 but on both those trips we were with my DS and Ddil (jason & ivory) who took turns pushing me around. The one day Bob and I went to Epcot alone as The kids went to Miami for the day Bob passed out on me on our way out heading for bus. Combo of pushing me and heat, beer and meds. Never again! So in 2012 I rented the scooter and loved it :)

Honestly Jeanette if it weren't for the need of using the scooter and our ages I would look at offsite alternatives too, I always see good deals some with breakfast included.

The two years we stayed offsite at the Travellodge now a Best Western were great. Their buses ran every 20-30 mins dropped us off and picked up at TTC so we rode the monorail a lot. Plus we could walk to Disney Market Place now DTD:)

I always start packing early but you will find me still packing up an hour before I walk out the door. When we drove We'd leave around 4 am and I rarely made it to bed before it was time to wake everyone up to leave. This included packing a lunch for on the road our first day, we'd stop at Dunkin Donuts for Coffee and a box of donuts (breakfast) then hit the highway.

I envy you in a way something very special about piling into the car for a family road trip :goodvibes

We stayed at the Travelodge! Waaay back in the mid 80's - when we wanted someplace other than Poly or CR and we just had to go back for a long weekend each winter. ::yes:: The Travelodge had a $50 a ngt rate...with those huge rooms, balconies, official Disney Resort Transportation (it was part of the Disney system back then) and walking distance to Disney Village, how could I pass up such a great deal? We stayed there twice. Back then it was great because of the Disney provided transportation - so we never felt like we were off-site.

Sheila, I feel the same about family road trips. We did many when I was child, even though it was only me, it was great fun and allowed me to see almost every State and so many beautiful places: the Painted Desert, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, all of New England, the Midwest, Southwest and CA. Of course, the then brand new place called Disneyland was the BEST!!

Still so enjoy when Mia, Sophia, the pups and I pile in the car for a road trip.

Jeannette, wherever you all stay will be absolutely perfect!! :goodvibes :dance3:

Yes the 6 Hotels were the official Hotels of WDW :) We stayed there twice to then when they PO & Dixie Landings we stayed at Port Orleans .

Jason loved the Parrot in the Lobby of the Travelodge was he there when you stayed there? Shawn would disappear and be found at the bank of Telephones talking to his GF.

Every morning we enjoyed the Breakfast Buffet out on the Terrace :goodvibes

My road trips as a child were not all that memorable either to PA or Jersey to visit relatives, Me, Mom, Aunt Lennie, Uncle Jack, my cousin Jean and 2 Standard Black Poodles Candy & Bow all in a Ford Sedan(only type car my uncle would buy)

I don't recall a Parrot - what fun! I do remember the bank of telephones because one trip we took my 16 old sitter. ;). When we stayed at the Travelodge there was the CR, Poly, the Golf Resort and FW Trailers or Camping. It is funny now to think we wanted a change from the Poly and CR...when CBR opened in 1988 we were so excited to try a new Disney Resort! We LOVED it because it was so tropical - Bob Marley music, rocking chairs on the wrap around porch - a lovely TS with white tablecloths. ::yes:: As you'll remember, all deluxe resort guests received nightly turn down service and a daily morning newspaper; I do so miss those days at the resorts.

We traveled so much because my dad was in the Navy - although it meant 11 schools in 12 years for me, I saw so much of the US ...almost forgot Canada! Nigara Falls was magnificent. Yep, we piled in the Ford with our doglet and off we went. I still have fond memories of what is now Historic Rt 66.

I took friends and new DH on a cross country trip from Boston to SoCal, then up to SF and back...we sold our VW Mini Bus and flew home on American Airlines when I found out I was with child. ;) Can you imagine...I did not need a map for that trip and I took them through PA, OH, IN, IA, NE, OK, TX, NM and AZ...we crossed into CA in the middle of the night...113 degrees! It was neat to meet all the other folks entering CA eating their fresh fruit...we all shared. Wonder if it still happens today.

Sorry for the hijack, Jeannette...you know old folks when we get to walking down memory lane! :rotfl2:

Awwwww, Faith wouldn't happen to have cheer practice Friday the 19th would she??? :hyper: Just look for a white SUV :crowded:

:scratchin hmmmm....that's tempting for sure. Extra room is a necessity with children.

Now you've stumped me - breakfast sandwiches:scratchin. Let me think here...Our only travel must-eats are Sonic for lunch, (Mmmm.... hot fudge shakes) and Krystal Burgers in Northern FL or GA, if the timing's right. Now, you can absolutely eat at both Sonic and Krystal Burger for breakfast (though we never have), but I have been known on the way back up 95 to request a mid morning KB stop, so maybe that's what you're thinking of? We usually never eat KB on the way down because the timing isn't right, but on the way home, I get a hankering for brunch:thumbsup2

No onsite? Is the extra room extra appealing? What do the kids prefer?
