A rare sight

Anyone know why they're both in port together? What is the Dream doing there?

Last time I saw this was in 2013 We were on the Fantasy heading to CC when I saw Atlantis getting closer and closer. The captain soon announced we had to dock briefly in Nassau for a medical emergency. While docked, the Dream docked next to us. We were eating outside at Cabanas and got to see her come in towards us, do a full 180 and dock, one of the coolest things I've ever seen, really gave me a new respect for the captains of these ships. After about 30 minutes, the captains played a battle of the horns and off we went to spend the afternoon at CC.

If I understand things correctly, Dream got out of drydock in The Bahamas earlier this week, and got to PC on Thursday or Friday. But, the first post-drydock sailing isn't until Monday. I suspect that it's not just sitting there idle, but that much of the interior refurb work is continuing (or in some cases, didn't even get started until it got to PC). I don't know if this is true or not, but it occurs to me that at PC, they would have the use of the facilities and personnel at Central Shops and WDI from WDW. I don't know if those resources are ever used for DCL, or if they always hire contractors.

Just watched the Dream pull away from CC on what I would assume is a shake-out run before the next scheduled cruise on Monday. Only a handful of souls visible on deck and they're all wearing name tags, so the crew enjoying what they can (also a couple on the AquaDuck). Most notable, the captain played one horn tune, and it was a few notes from "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?"

We were just Fishlips last weekend to meet some friends. I wish our plans had been for this weekend, but it was still awesome to see the two ships together on the webcam.

I do not like the placement of that Tug boat. It ruins the view of the ships!

Please be joking. PLEASE be joking.

lol No, not joking. Didn't I read someplace that FROZEN areas and characters had been added? At any rate, I definitely heard the horn with that tune. Took me a minute to figure out what was playing, but it WAS that tune. Not a fan, either.

Thanks for the response. I'll excuse myself to go beat my head against the wall now......:sad2:

Considering that DCL hasn't exactly had the most stellar record of getting all of the work done before the dry dock was over I wouldn't be surprised if they built in extra time to compensate for the lack of qualified work in dry dock.

Glad to see I'm not the only person who is over Frozen.
