Does anybody know if there are any good Ranches around Orlando. We're looking for a Ranch experience, and maybe a little beginner riding.

Hi There, welcome back.
I dont know of any ranches where you can stay over but you can get a western trail ride at the Grand Cypress equestrian centre, all standards are catered for, and they do english style riding as well, its a British Horse Society approved centre so should be up to standard. It looked good when we visited in '98. I know if I was to go riding Thats where I would go. I'm a riding instructor by the way.
I hope you enjoy your holiday and it isnt too sad for you.

There are two real ranch possibilities I know of in central Florida. Out to the south of St Cloud (just past Kissimmee ) is Forever Florida, an eco-tourist set-up that is also a working ranch where you can do wagon and horse-rides, camp overnight and try your hand at various activities. Look them up on www.foreverflorida.com

Then, in Seminole County (to the north of Orlando) you could try Big Oaks Ranch, which is a lovely private house with authentic log cabins and ranching activities. Check out www.bigoaksranch.com

If you've already done the parks, these are well worth considering, IMHO.
