My alarm clock, I mean the beep, beep, beep of the food court trucks, woke me up promptly at 5:30 AM. Who needs Mickey when you have them? I laid in bed until about 6:30 AM which was really the time I needed to get up. I want to mention here that the the shower water pressure was very poor and I heard other guests complaining about it. You lathered all up then wondered how in the world you were going to get it all off. The water pressure at AKL wasn't much better. Anyway I got everyone up in both rooms (which was no small feat) then had breakfast in the room. We had purchased cereal and donuts which made us an adequate meal. Remember to bring cups if you've brought coffee or tea bags. You cannot get a cup in the food court unless you buy a drink. I had not bought cups but was hoping to just get some hot water for my tea bags. I ended up getting the refillable mugs for my children and using them myself in the morning for tea.

After breakfast it was off to MGM. There was a great security CM that checked our bags on our way in. She joked with my 9 year old and was really funny. She asked him where he had been all morning. He was late. She had been standing there for hours just waiting for him to come. She acted like she was just so excited to see him. We all got a kick out of it. The sun shined for 4 ior 5 hours before it started to rain but unfortunately after it started it wouldn' quit. We did just about everything though. My motto became "have poncho, will ride". My youngest son rode with me on the Tower of Terror. He is only 9 and this was his first big thrill ride. I got so nervous worrying about him that I wasn't able to have a very good time on it. He did just fine though and insisted that it was now his favorite ride. It was a little more intense though then I remembered it to be. I don't remember experiancing the part where you go down then straight back up again without stopping. It was a really wierd feeling.

For dinner we ate at the Hollywood and Vine. It was buffet style and not too bad. I had the prime rib which was better than the prime rib at Le Cellier ( at least that is my opinion). The mashed potatoes were great and I don't even usually eat mashed potatoes. The dessert bar was just fair but there was a good variety. I didn't particularly like the decor there. It was kind of plain and uninteresting. It wasn't the cleanest either. The bill for all six of us came to about $96.00. I didn't find that too bad and really it was good compared to the prices of other meals we got that week.

The rain did affect a couple of attractions which was frustrating. They canceled Fantasmic and the Indiana Jones ride was cut short. All in all though we still enjoyed it. The bus service back to the ASMo for some reason was not so great. There was a very long line and some people had to wait in the rain for about 20 minutes. We were lucky though and had some shelter. Those bus stop shelters at MGM are just too little!

Back at the resort the children went swimming and the rain did finially stop. My sister and I left the children in the care of her 17 year old and went to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We caught a bus to the park then rode a boat over to the Poly resort. This is the first time I have ever seen the Poly up close and I really liked it. I think I will try and stay there some day. My sister and I pulled up some beach chairs and sat and watched the castle change colors. At 10:00 PM promptly the fireworks began. It was a wonderful spot to watch them and I couldn't help but feeling a little smug about our great seats. We caught another boat back to the Magic Kingdom and then a bus to our resort. It was easy to do and not a bad trip. When we got back my children were fast asleep in their beds. Yes, this has been a magical day in spite of the rain. ;)
