and
I'm glad you're here.
Me too.
I cannot believe ow much the prices of APs have increased. They've doubled since the last time we had them. We have to get PAPs because the girls can't miss school.
I miss the days of going off season. Crossing my fingers we can book the GCV during the busiest time of the year and pull off APs.
This will be our first cruise.
Hope my report lives up to some of the others I've read. I know I'll be rebooking because that's what Gabby wants to do for graduation.
You had to sign in twice? I never sign out.
Maybe it's a technical glitch? Regales, I'm happy you're here. I will have our magical Easter Sunday posted here soon.
You know, you should always sign out of the DIS, and here is why. There have been instances in which certain DIS'ers ended up on the DIS...signed in as other DIS'ers!!!
Someone could end up signed in as YOU. It happened to at least 2 DIS'ers that I know of just last year - they thought they were signed in as themselves, only to look up at the upper right corner and see another person's name. One DIS'er even sent a private message or posted something as that other DIS'er before she realized what happened!
And then It happened to me earlier this year! During awards season I noticed that there were discussion threads popping up for each of the major awards shows on the Just for Fun board. I was planning to join in on one of them. I found the thread first, before signing in. I clicked on it to be sure it was a current thread. It was. I went to the upper right screen to log in, only to see that I WAS logged in -- as some DIS'er I have never heard of in my life!!!!
Fortunately I caught it before posting anything and then signed out.
I just have a feeling that leaving your account 'open' by not signing out may be asking for trouble if there are little hiccups in the server or the system. Just think of how scary it could be if someone started sending private messages or posting crazy stuff -- while posing AS you!
In any case, signing out of one's account should not mean that clicking a link to a different thread will require signing in again only a few seconds later, so I think that is definitely a glitch!
I thought of you yesterday (which was part of the reason I wanted to subscribe to the thread) when I somehow stumbled upon an article (and subsequent comments) from December 2012 about
Love Actually. I know that you are a big, big fan of that movie - as am I, of course - and as I read this person's ultra-negative review and some of the wacky observations made by the posters underneath it, I thought, "Did they even see the same movie that I saw?"
Some of their interpretations of the things that happen in the movie were so far-fetched and misunderstood, and it seemed like the whole message or 'point' of the movie was lost on most of the folks who replied. I don't think they got it. I don't think they realized that the scene with the British guy in the Wisconsin bar was
supposed to be goofy, exaggerated and over-the-top. Not only did many people say they disliked the movie, they labeled it as one of the worst holiday movies, ever!
So after that experience, I thought "I know I'm not the only one who gets that movie and sees what it is trying to accomplish. Jenny loves it too!"
(Apparently, we
Love Actually fans need to stick together because we're the only ones who 'got it'!
You are not kidding about how much the AP prices have gone up. It's crazy business! It is really getting harder to justify having an AP because the prices are so crazy. I think they are going up again next month, too - and who knows how big of a price hike it will be this time (after last year's shocking increase)?
I hope you're able to snag the GCV for peak season! Stranger things have happened - I know that last year fellow DIS'er Liza/funatdisney managed to get one night at GCV on short notice (during the holiday season), when it appeared on the website and no one snapped it up. I am guessing it had been booked by someone at first, and then cancelled later. So it became available and no one got it, leaving it open for Liza.
