A Quote from Thumper

As some of you might have noticed, there are several members on the TB who have this Thumper quote from Bambi in their signiture:

"If you can't say somthin' nice, don't say nothin' at all."

Originally, this quote was being used by active posters on the POTC Eye Candy Thread. It was used as a form of "silent protest," as an attempt to cease other posters flaming POTC threads started by new users.

Why am I telling you this?

Well, lately, posters on the Teen Board have been getting out of hand with what they say. I was browsing through some threads when I realized that Thumper's quote could be extremely useful.

Now, I'm not here to tell you what you should and what you shouldn't post. No one is. It's a free country, but, if you're going to post something that may be inconsiderate, please, think of Thumper's quote

This thread might turn out to be a total flame fest, but, before it does, I want all of you to know that this thread is not directed at anyone in particular.

Also, I think that we should try to include more smileys like this one in our posts. Reading something is different from hearing it, and it's esier to misinterpret a post when it is really benign. If we use a little more often, it will eliminate the questions "Was she being sarcastic?" and "Was that supposed to be mean?" Just a thought.

Also, I think that we should try to include more smileys like this one in our posts. Reading something is different from hearing it, and it's esier to misinterpret a post when it is really benign. I totally agree with that. Sometimes I take things differently from punctuation and stuff. That's why I always post 'lol' at the end of my posts. So in my laguage it's a 'no hard feelings' kind of expression.

I had already had this quote in my sig, but I think this thread might be a start to everything getting back on track a little. when I came on the dis, it was a place where everybody got along for the most part. now I feel like its split in two. when shelby of all people posted that she wouldn't be visiting the dis very often anymore, that really set it into my brain that things need to be changed. I hope we will all be getting along soon.
