A Quick Souvenier Tip if Going to Disney Soon!

We're just back from WDW a few hours ago it was a WONDERFUL, Magical trip, but I'm exhausted! Will post more tomorrow, but I have a quick souvenier tip for anyone going in the next few weeks...


IF YOU SEE A 2004 SOUVENIER YOU LIKE -- BUY IT IMMEDIATELY!

2004 items are hard to find -- they already have a ton of 2005 stuff out, but the 2004 stuff is scarce! I saw a 2004 coffee mug on our first day and I didn't get it and then spent 6 days looking for it. I lucked out and found one on our last day, but never did find a 2004 picture frame.

Mouse Gears has an adorable "tourist" Mickey beanie type guy decked out in a 2004 hat, shirt and tote bag, but Mouse Gears is the only place I saw him! So if you like to get something with the year on it grab it quick!

OMG, this is so true! We were there Nov 11-18th and I couldn't find the 2004 photo frame magnets anywhere. Not to be dramatic, but I was a little hurt by it. We have one from every trip and it's just not right that we don't have 2004. We searched all the parks, DD, GF and AKL to no avail. It dawned on us that it was November and they were just sold out. They had plenty of t-shirts, hats, photo albums then but I can see why that would not be the case in December. You make a good point. Thanks!

Uh oh. I hope we can find something dated to commemorate our DS's first trip. Guess we can always get a personalized ornament with the date on it.

We did see hats and t-shirts, but not everywhere and sizes seemed to be limited. I was really disappointed not to be able to find a 2004 picture frame. The 2005 frames were very cool though! (the acrylic 3-D one)

I did manage to find a magnet, but not a picture frame one. My mom was looking for an ornament, but the only 2004 ornament we saw was a POFQ one in our hotel gift shop.

I understand 2004 is almost over, but I couldn't believe how much 2005 stuff they had...why would you want 2005 stuff?

I collect mugs though and was so happy to find the one I did!

Oh no! Did you see Christmas ornaments with 2004 on them? We're leaving tomorrow and I really want to get 2004 stuff - we got married this year and I just graduated with my masters degree on Friday. I just realized the other day that we don't have anything with 2004 on it.

One good thing is that there are 2004 pins everywhere. Last year when I went right after Thanksgiving I couldn't find a 2003 pin to save my life. So I bought them early this year and guess what?? Of course they are everywhere so if you collect the pins, they are avail.

You might try the outlet stores at Belz - my guess is they probably have the 2004 stuff. Saw somethings there when we were down in June.

This is so true! It was amazing how little 2004 merchandise they had left. The 2005 stuff was everywhere!

Ufgator - On the Disney World special Friday night they were at a Christmas Shop (not sure if it's the one in DTD or MK/Liberty Suare) but they had a lady who painted whatever you wanted on ornaments is BEAUTIFUL writing. I plan to get one of those next week!! Just athought if you can't find one.....

we just returned last night, and I saw alot of 2004 stuff. Frames too (although, I thought the one that lit up was rather tacky - but that's just me.) I bought my SIL a Tink ornament that said 2004 on it (and there were many there), and a 2004 AKL ornament for MIL, MIL also bought a few Minnie's that had 2004 on them. The stuff IS there...but yes, alot of 2005 stuff is already out.

I noticed that they had a lot of 2005 merchandise out, but at the World of Disney they still had the 2004 stuff. (It was displayed fairly close to the 2005 items.)

I didn't see much dated merchandise at Belz, and we went to both the Character Warehouse and the Premiere shops.

Reg, I tried to find Belz. I found a Belz place by Universal, but no Disney, just 'designer' stores. Where are those??

ufgator, funny you should ask about the ornaments and being married this year. We did see a great Mickey and Minnie kissing ornament that said "Our 1st Christmas Together" or something like that on it at the DTD Christmas store. I'm pretty sure it had the year on it too. My mom was sorry she didn't buy it for my cousin who just got married in August.

My sister got one of the handpainted ornaments and they did do a really beautiful job on it.

Dan, you missed out on some great Disney deals. You went to the "designer" section of Belz. There are two older sections. One has the Character Warehouse, the other has the Character Premiere store. (There's also a Universal and Hard Rock outlet in these malls.) There's a Premiere shop closer to WDW, but I find the one at Belz is better.

All of them are close to Universal. Without fail, DH is "positve" that he remembers where they are, and as always, we get lost.

If you have a car and the time, it's worth the trip.

I'm glad they have a lot of 2005 stuff since we'll be there in July! If you're looking for 2004 stuff I'd definitely try the outlets - they ALWAYS have stuff that's a bit dated so there should be a lot of 2004 stuff. Good luck finding what you're all looking for!
