Day 3 - Part 1 - Friday, December 14th, 2012

I got up at about 6 am (we are early risers in my family) and had a shower. We all got ready an were at the bus stop by 7 to catch the bus to MK. From there, we took the monorail to the GF, where we would be having breakfast. I was pretty excited about this. The GF is my favourite resort - always has been and always will hold a special place in my heart. There seemed to be nobody around! All of the monorail stops were empty, TTC was empty, it was very strange… but I liked it! We were a little early for our reservation so we took some pictures and walked around the resort for a bit.

We wandered over to the Grand Floridian Cafe

Our reservation was for 8:35am, but we were at the podium but about 8:15am. We got taken to our table right away! It wasn't busy here either…

Once again, our waitress was kind enough to take a picture of the four of us

I ordered this:
American - Two Eggs served with Biscuits, Bacon, Sausage and Breakfast Potatoes and your choice of Juice $13.49

We were served very quickly, and the food was delicious! They brought me the wrong kind of eggs, so I asked if they could please switch it. I was told that it would be no problem. A few seconds later, they brought out a plate of the proper eggs and a bunch of bacon. So I really got 2 breakfasts! I ate the amount of one breakfast (almost!) and everyone took a piece of the extra bacon. Those poor wrong eggs just sat on their plate alone. This is one instance where a waitress really did deserve an 18 or 20 percent tip - she was great! I cannot remember her name though, I am really bad with that.

After breakfast, we did a bit of shopping. My mom and grandma were both short on ideas for Christmas presents for me, so they bought me a couple of things from the GF!! I like their resort specific merchandise enough to buy it, even though I didn't stay their on this trip.

When we were finished in the shops, we hopped back on the monorail to go to MK. It still seemed like super low crowds.

Beautiful pictures. Oh, That Gingerbread house is gorgeous. We saw it in person 2 years ago, but this years, with the lights, even more beautiful. I never thought that would have been possible.

Nice you had a great waitress. I hope you didn't have to wait long for the correct eggs. Are you the one. You know, the one who if there is going to be a mix up on the meal, it is going to be you...the one. I am the one in my house. Not sure why.

Isn't it gorgeous? I love it too. The proper eggs came out extremely quickly. And yes, I am that one… and I have to be the pickiest eater in my family… maybe that is why it happens to me lol

glad the eggs came out quickly. I'm not a picky eater, seldom ask for something special other than maybe a taco without tomatoes. But, it is always my meal. We're Disney early risers too!!! It's hard to stay in the room and sleep when there's so much else going on!!

Glad to hear that the egg mistake was fixed so quickly! GFC is one of our favorites!

I just loved the Christmas decorations at the Grand Floridian...nothing compared.

I had hoped to go to the Grand Floridian Cafe on our upcoming trip in August, but Mark was given permission to pick all of our meals for that trip and it didn't make the cut. But I'm thinking we will try it in December as I really want to go there. It's such a pretty restaurant.

I agree! I may be biased (since I love everything GF lol) but I loved the GFC. Everything was fresh and delicious, the service was excellent, and the environment is so beautiful. I hope that you get to try it in December

Allergic to the GF?!

I know… blasphemy… He swears that there is some scent in there that he is allergic to. But he's been to see a naturopath for his allergies since then, so I told him that another trip to the GF is in order

It was wonderful. This was the first time that I've had a meal at the GFC, I wouldn't mind trying lunch next time we go. The service was excellent, which really helps you to enjoy it

Day 3 Part 2 - Friday, December 14th, 2012

So we left off after eating at the GFC. Wonderful restaurant, I would definitely eat there again.

We hopped the monorail and went to MK! No matter how many times I go, seeing the MK always overwhelms me with it's magic and beauty. It is something that you can't describe, but I'm sure many of you know the feeling!!

The crowd levels still seemed low everywhere that we went! Score!

It was quite chilly this morning, and as you can see in the photos, the sky was pretty grey. We walked up to the train station and took a few pictures.

There was a single mom and her son up there. She was struggling to take a picture with her and her son, so I offered to take one for her. She was so grateful to have a picture of the two of them because they often travel together and so most of her pictures are just of her son and not of them together. I was glad that I got to help her with that.

Then we headed down Main Street to get our MK on! There was some lovely streetmosphere happening...

We stopped for just a moment to watch and then we continued on our way. A couple of the shops on the way called our names, so we went in for a peek.

Slowly, we got closer to my favourite sight in the world…

I take a million pictures of the castle every trip. I don't know why. It might be an illness lol It is just so beautiful!

At this point in our Disney careers, we don't do touring plans or anything. We just go wherever we feel like going at the time. I love this new relaxed pace! We decided to head to Tomorrowland first!
