A Quick Holiday Miracle - An All Girls Trip - Dec/12 *REVIEWS finally up! 03/30*

OMG!! You have pictures of the New Fantasy Land!!! SO NEAT!!! :cool1: I am so excited to read about your experiences there!!! I cannot wait to see it!

I also LOVE CoP and The PeopleMover! Those are two of my favorite rides! Glad to see I'm not alone! Classics are the best!

Breakfast sounds lovely! I'm going to add that on my radar as a breakfast option, it really hadn't been. Love the low crowds (and the new jacket!) and oh, isn't new fantasyland just enthralling? I was mesmerized in Oct and it wasn't fully open.

It was so amazing! I am so glad that I was able to see it. And classics really are the best! I feel a lot closer to Walt's vision of the place when I ride the classics.

It really was a great breakfast. It is definitely up in my top breakfasts now. Thanks for the jacket love :goodvibes I am in love with the new Fantasyland, and I cannot wait until it is all complete. The walls up around the new Dwarves ride take a teeny bit of the magic away :rotfl:

Day 3 Part 5 - Friday, December 14th, 2012

So I left us off at the new Fantasyland. So beautiful! Now what we decided to do next may shock you, but we did it anyway…

We went over to BoG to see if we could get in for lunch :scared1:
DSCN0158_zpsc00a433b.jpg

All of those people there, were waiting to get in for lunch. There was a CM over by the entrance, so we decided to walk up and ask a few questions. We never thought that we would actually be able to get in (and it was about 12:30 at this point) but we HAD to at least ask. According to this CM it was about 30-45 minutes wait from that point. Score! We couldn't believe how short of a wait that was, so we had to get in line!

Grandma and I held our places in line, while Jess and my mom went to see Gaston. (CM's said this was okay, and there were many people doing it)

Here are some pictures I took as we waited.

And here are their pictures with Gaston.

You can see that my mom is laughing in her picture. They said that Gaston was terrific! He was just as arrogant as he is in the movie and he was just excellent in that role.

We were told that the wait was going to be 30-45 minutes, but I don't even think that it took that long. The line really moved quickly, and before we knew it, we were inside! *cue tears*

I am really upset with how the pictures turned out in there. I need to go back when I get my proper camera. The point and shoot that I brought was very minimal and you couldn't adjust settings, so a lot of the pictures came out yellow. It is so beautiful in there, and I know I will be back at some point, so I will get some better pictures then.

We were there more for the atmosphere than anything, so we shared lunches. We ordered two of these

Carved Turkey Sandwich - served on a warm baguette with Dijon mayonnaise and Pomme Frites $8.79(Courtesy of AllEars.net)

It was delicious! I had a hard time eating my half of the meal, so it would have been a big waste for us to each order a meal. For dessert, we ordered these

DSCN0213_zps8d54e5d1.jpg

Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake - vanilla sponge cake, strawberry mousse filling, and cream cheese icinng $2.39

Also delicious, and pretty light, which was nice.

I didn't want to leave when we were finished eating. It was so amazing in there, I could have just sat around and looked at it all day. Our server also gave us a really interesting little fact of trivia. He said that when they were creating BoG, they had the same artist animate the snow through those big windows as the artist who animated that snow in the movie! So this way, it fell exactly as it did in the movie!! AHH!! So amazing! They seriously think of everything. Maybe some of you already knew this, but I didn't until we got there and now, I tell everyone lol

So we finally pried ourselves away from the restaurant (knowing that we will go back some day really helped with that :rotfl:). We wondered out slowly, and I took some more pictures on the way.

Bellies full, and minds amazed, we walked over to see the rest of Fantasyland. We rode our favourites, including Peter Pan's Flight (where we witnessed some stellar parenting) and It's a Small World. Now I have read stories on this board about people thinking that the last room of IASW is Iceland. I've always giggled at this, but I've never had personal experience with it (maybe I didn't listen well enough :lmao:). Well, on this ride, there was a person who thought that this room was Norway… I don't want to be mean, or make fun, but how is that Norway?! Towards the end of the room, the lightbulb came on and we heard a big "OHHHHHH" lol The wonders of Disney.

We took our time, walking around, absorbing the MK, and going on a ride when we felt like it. We ended up riding Pirates that afternoon (teehee), and we walked right on, which was awesome.
DSCN0234_zps5709ded4.jpg

We also rode the Haunted Mansion. This was my first time really going through the new, interactive queue.

We were going to ride the Jungle Cruise since it has been a while since any of us have rode it, but it had a 55 minute wait :confused3 Not sure what that was about, but none of us felt like waiting 55 minutes for that.

Day 3 Part 7 - Friday, December 14th, 2012

Finally, I am going to finish off day 3!! I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to get this day done.

So after going through Liberty Square, Frontierland, etc. we went back towards Main Street to head out for the day. I felt like we had got a lot accomplished during this day. We rode most of the rides that we wanted to ride - except for the Jungle Cruise (which had too long of a wait) and Splash Mountain (it was too cold for getting wet!).

We went through the emporium on our way out, but I cannot remember if anyone bought anything or not.

I took a few more pictures as we were exiting the park for the day.

The skies were grey, and it was pretty chilly, but thankfully we didn't get rained on!

There was a MVMCP that night so the park would be closing at 7pm. We definitely didn't want to be in the madness leaving the park at closing time, so it was about 5pm when we left. We headed back to CSR for the night.

We grabbed some dinner from Cafe Rix (again we shared meals). My mom and I shared a mini pizza (it wasn't great, but it was food) and grandma and Jess shared some type of refrigerated wrap.

After dinner, we went to spend some time in the hot tub. My grandma and I did this a lot at AKL in 2011. It was something special that the 2 of us did and really enjoyed, so we wanted to make sure that we made time for it again on this trip. I have back problems and my back was quite sore, so the hot tub felt great.

Once we came back to our room, it was pretty much bed time. We are early to bed, early to rise types for the most part.

Up Next… DHS!

Once again, I had to skip your FLE pictures (and believe me, it was DIFFICULT) but the rest of the day sounds great! I love the way they decorate Main Street/Town Square for Christmas. So lovely!

Can't wait to hear about DHS! :thumbsup2

Great update! You pictures are wonderful, especially the outside ones. It makes me wish we had spent more time in Fantasyland, but I am a rule follower, we had preview time slot. I am rule follower, but really wish I hadn't. I don't even remember seeing the stream, but that may have been my viewing area.
I think it is great you & your grandmother have such a special relationship. My gram was truly my best friend. I treasure EVERY memory I have with her. It sounds like you do as well. :)

Awesome updates (PM me and tell me what the rose does, please). We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there, and if we can't get an ADR for August, we will definitely do lunch. I wasn't happy with my pictures either...the lighting and a point and shoot did not cooperate.

I love the picture of your Mom and Gaston...you can see she was enjoying.

And love that you and Grandma share that special time at the hot tub. I love relaxing in the hot tub after a long day.

Well there aren't many more FLE pictures for the rest of the report so hopefully you can enjoy the rest :rotfl2: I also love the Christmas decorations, so beautiful!

Tagging along for the ride ! Loving your trippie so far !

:welcome: Thanks for joining in and commenting! I hope that you enjoy the rest as well.

Thank you :goodvibes Thankfully this part was all open when we got there so I didn't have to worry about breaking rules! I'm a rule follower too. And I most definitely treasure the memories with my grandmother, and I am so thankful for every moment that we get to spend together.

Thank you :goodvibes I sent you a PM about the roses. I was so amazed by them. I'm glad to read that someone else wasn't a fan of the lighting in there for point and shoot cameras. It was a great lunch, and I'd definitely eat there if you can't get a dinner ADR. The hot tub was a great way for us to relax after a long day, and to spend some time together - it would be nice to do that more often!

BOG for lunch! This is the first time I've seen it in a TR. How does the ordering work? It is CS for lunch but TS for dinner, right?

Or does that have something to do with the Rose?

What a fun day all around!

It was amazing! It is worth going in for lunch just to see the inside of the place! It is CS for lunch and TS for dinner. The Rose is involved, so I'll try not to spoil it for people, but I will say that someone does bring you your food even though it is a CS meal.

Hey, I'm finally joining your TR, I know you've been reading mine for a while, so now I have to read yours! I just might need a couple of days to catch up, but I'm here! Can't wait to read about your trip! :cool1:

The theming of BOG looks amazing!!!

Hahaha your "Norway" experience on IASW reminds me of the time DF and I were on the ride and in literally EVERY room this person asked someone next to them "Is this Mexico? Are we in Mexico now? Now?":rotfl:

BOG is really amazing. I had looked at pictures before I left, so I had an idea what it looked like, but it still took my breath away! Your IASW experience is funny, I can just picture that happening!:rotfl:

Wow... lots of awesome updating...:goodvibes

Lovely pictures of Main Street and the Castle...:goodvibes

I'm a big Buzz fan... I still love this ride even with TSM around...:thumbsup2

New Fantasyland... really is so beautiful... I have to admit I may have had a tear in my eye when I saw it as well...

That store with all the Beauty and the Beast Merchandise could be quite dangerous to a person's fiscal health...

Gaston looked awesome... I have to look for him next time...

BOG... best themed restaurant ever...:thumbsup2 The detailing, just everything so well done... we went for lunch as well and even though I'd love to try dinner... I can't imagine any restaurant doing better counter service... LOVE the rose concept...funny we had the lemon meringue cupcake... very good also... very light...:goodvibes

Great updates...:thumbsup2

Aw thank you :goodvibes I'm debating whether I'm going to do another update today or not…

I agree with everything you said, BOG and FLE are both amazing and perfectly executed by Disney.

Day 4 Part 1 - Saturday, December 15th, 2012

I got up at about 6:30am and we were out the door at a bit passed 7am. That was really speedy for me! It was quite chilly and foggy out this morning. We got on a bus going to

IMG_1312_zpsc450cf5a.jpg

DHS! And were making really good time. This was the one early morning that was really important to my mom. When we got there, we only had a few people ahead of us at the turnstiles :cool1: As soon as they let us in to the park, we went straight to TSM, of course! I have no pictures of any of this :rotfl: On a previous trip I waited in the stand-by line and got pictures of the entire queue, so I don't feel the need to take any more lol We pretty much walked right on to TSM! I got the high score for our car! When we came out of TSM, there was no line at the FP machines. I have never seen this (except for when they are closed). However, FPs were almost sold out, our return time was 4-5pm, which worked perfectly for our day!

Then we went over towards
DSCN0241_zps1c0a557a.jpg

Oooo That picture is so creepy! I am a huge ride wimp, so I don't ride ToT or RnR (maybe one day). But Jessica went on RnR while the rest of us browsed some of the nearby shops. We made a plan for everyone to meet at Starring Rolls. I had never eaten here before, but I had heard good things, so we thought that we would give it a try. I also seem to have no pictures of this :scared1: Everything was delicious, but huge!! I had a banana, a bagel and a tea. Very filling and yummy counter meal.

After breakfast, we didn't really have a plan. I really wanted to do
DSCN0243_zpsf4ce295d.jpg

But my mom and grandma didn't want to! I couldn't believe it. They have never done it and said that they cannot draw so they didn't want to go. I tried to convince them that you don't need to be an artist to participate and it is really fun! In the end, they couldn't say no to me, and decided that we should do things as a group (with the exception of thrill rides that will make some of us sick lol) So in we went! There weren't many people there when we got there, and we only had to wait a few minutes for the next class to start.

IMG_1305_zpsa5997f4f.jpg

IMG_1307_zpsb892b2a1.jpg

IMG_1304_zpsbef357b9.jpg

In the end, they thanked me for making them take the class :goodvibes They loved it! I may or may not have played the "I-told-you-so" card :rolleyes1 We drew Goofy in this class, who is a character that I haven't drawn before, which was nice.

I took a picture of this cute little guy in the shop as we left the academy. My little brother's favourite character
DSCN0242_zps1d8a9403.jpg

That morning, we also rode
DSCN0244_zps8a96d9df.jpg

There was maybe a few minutes to wait. Once again, we got the gangster scene. I can't even remember seeing the Cowboy one. It must have been a while ago that I last saw that one.

After TGM, Jess and I rode the new Star Tours ride. We also walked right on to this! What a great morning for crowds. I enjoyed the old ride, but this was my first opportunity to ride the new one. As far as the motion goes, I think that they kept it about the same as the old ride. I had read that the new one is more "intense", I had also read that it is "less" intense. I think that it is about the same. Great ride though, I really enjoyed it!

I really wish that I would have written down the time. I want to think that it was about 11am. We had already rode TSM, MoDA, GRM, and ST, and eaten breakfast. Pretty productive morning!

We planned on returning to DHS later to see the Osborne Lights, and it isn't a park that we need to stay at from open to close. We decided to head back to CSR to enjoy the resort and the pool for a while - and maybe take a little nap!

Our bus seemed to take a while, so I got bored and took some pictures. As you can see, it was looking much nice out today!
