Hello All,

Since this has been a FANTASTIC site to get information, I thought I would post this question.

(Please, I don't intend this thread to become a debate on smoking vs. non-smoking. I've already been through that thread! :goodvibes )

My question is simple: does anyone know what bars/restaurants in WDW will allow smoking? I know about the DSA's in the parks and I used them last year with no problems. I'm a considerate smoker and don't want to get yelled at for blazing up where I'm not supposed to (although if I'm not sure, I usually ask someone, like the bartender for example, if smoking is allowed).

I remember when I went last year there was a nice little bar right outside the House of Blues where one could enjoy their drink and a cigarette. Is this still there? Also, I think I remember reading that there is smoking allowed at the Jellyrolls bar on the Boardwalk. Is this true as well?

Any hints and suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks again!:)

you cannot smoke inside any restaurant in florida. as for bars, i really don't know. sorry i can't be more help!

OOoops! I totally didn't mean to write "restaurants". I know smoking is not allowed in the restaurants. They don't allow it in the restaurants up here in Long Island either, so I should know better. Sorry!

Just bars then!

I believe Jellyrolls recently went smoke free, but I think there's still a place over at DTD, a cigar bar  I've just gotten used to going outside for a break :goodvibes

Jellyrolls is the only bar on Disney property that allows smoking (aside from a cigar bar) as it is not owned by Disney. But they have a great ventilation system in place that keeps the smoke down to a minimum.

The Margarita Shack at DTD is a nice area to stop to a drink an sit outside at an umbrella table. It's on the water...just down from Capt. Jacks. Some of the resort pool bars have sitting areas where smoking is allowed...all outside, of course. We stay at POFQ and stop in to see John, the bartender, for a drink.;)

Have you been to Jellyrolls recently? I had heard that when Jellyrolls did their refurb a couple months ago that when they opened back up they were going smoke free, don't know if that's true or not. I hope not.

Cool! My brother and I are staying at POFQ for our trip - I will keep my eyes open for John!

Thanks for the tip about the Margarita Shack! Goodness knows I love me some margaritas!! Ole!!

I hope not too! I really wanted to go there and check it out; it looks like a cool joint. The dueling pianos idea sounds intriguing.

Non-smoker chimming in just to say THANKS for being considerate! Sometimes smokers get a bad rap and they really don't deserve it.

So thank you!

I liked it at the Wilderness Lodge, the smoking area was between the beach and the pool bar. DH got a free drink for his Birthday I can't remember the CM's name, but we had a snack in the Teratory Lounge the night before and she told us when her shift was the next day, stop by and I'll give you a free drink for your Birthday. We showed up and sure enough his was free :thumbsup2 Then double the luck she accidently (or was hubbie trying to distract her :confused3 ) did the wrong drink for another customer so he got that one too:drinking1 :drinking1

Please, someone check and tell us it's not so! That's one of our favorite places to go hang out with a bunch of friends when we come down. The place is a blast, and the piano guys are awesome. Take someone there for their birthday some time if you want to embarrass the heck out of them. Nothing quite like seeing a short stubby Scottish guy standing on the piano doing "I'm a little teapot":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

i think smokers are discriminated against too much. i hate that i cant smoke anywhere i want!!

Smoking is bad for you! You should quit. Reformed smoker here. I know you don't want to hear it. I didn't want to either so much so that I stopped smoking. Hope it works for you too!!

I was at Jellyrolls in the beginning of March and smoking is still allowed. The refurb was to have new floors installed.

Florida law will not allow smoking in any establishment that offers food of any type. Thus, a bar that does not offer any food may allow smoking. No restaurants in Florida allow smoking.

Start dipping skoal instead. You can pretty much discreetly do it wherever you want. You can chew in movie theaters, bars, restaurants, and at disney, pretty much wherever you want as long as you're discreet about it, using a spit bottle or swallowing it and not spitting all over the place. That's what I do. Plus, you're not putting anyone else's heath at risk, only yourself.
