Here's my story, My mother and I were planning on taking 2 underprivelidged children we are friends with on our trip in dec. 2005. (one 6 one 13) We pre purchased park hoppers (7 day) for the 4 of us so 3 adults one childs. Now the 6 year olds mother has decided it would be best if the 6 year old not go. (her father is very sick.) So we are left with a child's pass for DQ and her park hopper. I think my only possible recourse is to resell on e bay. That being said should I sell my other tickets on e bay and then buy 3 10 day MMY passes? I know I could upgrade at disney but I could pre order and save more money if I could buy them in advance. Trust me money is an issue. Fundraising but we've only made a bit twards the hotel so far, we have other things planned but most is coming out of pocket. Any advice?

To me this is not an ethical question. Why not sell on Ebay, or even list in local paper. If you can make your money back and add to your trip what is the problem with this? Don't feel guilty about taking care of yourself, your obviously not a selfish person! You are trying to help others as well, not profit to make money on Ebay. I say go for it, and anyone who flames you for that should give their head a shake.

I absolutely agree with SnowWhite! Your intent was to make life happier for 2 children which is an amazing thing to do. Definitely go for it (ie. sell the tickets or do whatever you have to to come up with the best outcome) and make the trip for that 1 child who is going with you an even more magical time than ever! You are to be commended for your generosity and kindness; too bad more people weren't like you and your mother in this world.

Why can't customer relations help you with this and if not write it all down and spread the word as to why. I would be very interested in knowing since I spend about 5 thousand + a year on their products and vacations.

Your other option is to donate your tickets to the Make a Wish Foundation - I think they are the ones who make it possible for underpriviledged children to to to Disney - Many give a tax receipt for in kind donations and you could get a tax break - I realize this still leaves you with out of pocket expenses.

Could you not get Disney to upgrade ie: pay the difference from what you have to the ticket you want?? It's worth checking out.

I wish I could afford to donate tickets but making this trip happen, and have the experience be one Jerri can feel the magic of for the rest of her life is really my goal at this time. I go to school full-time and hold a part time job as well. I also pay for her to have a tutour to help with her reading because although she is in grade 7 her reading and math levels are only at a grade 4 level. My mother worked for Air Canada all her working days and we always helped with the Dreams take flight trips, my mother as a chaperone and myself dressed up as Daisy Duck to see the flights off. (a great experience as I was still only in high school at the time) I believe in these sort of chairties however since moving to a small county where the unemployment rate is high and substance abuse even higher I try to spend my efforts on individual children I know. I find the best way to show you care is to actually spend time with them.
Back to my original question, I think what is really bothering me about it is that if I sell on e bay-I'm pretty sure we'll at least get what we paid for our tickets. If it goes higher though I don't think it's very Disney of me to sell knowing there may be a cheaper deal out there for the buyer. Should I even worry about it? I mean I wouldn't misrepresent the tickets or anything but I see all these people paying WAAAAAY to much for the Q&C vouchers and I feel kinda bad for them. I realize that if a buyer bids for them then that is what they are worth to them but I kind of feel weird about it.

Snowyprincess, my parents live in Belleville and we are out that way often. Is this the old 7 day park hopper with no expiry??? for a child 3-9 years??? How much did you pay for it, perhaps I would be interested???? please send me a pm if you are interested and we could then exchange email addresses. That way you'd save the e-bay costs as well as shipping - Thanks

It's probably better to trade the tickets in @ Disney for 10 day MYW tickets. I've tried fidning the value of the old tickets (7 day - 3 adult and 1 child) but couldnt' find the true value.

Howver, @ Disney the gate cost of the 10 day, park hopper ticket is $771USD. You can compare the cost of your tickets to the $771, and determine how much you'd have to pay.

It may not be worth the expense to sell on Ebay. You won't get the face value of the ticket.

Totally unused tickets may be sold on eBay, and I believe may be traded in towards other tickets with no restrictions except only one old ticket may be traded towards any one new ticket and you don[t get any change back.

Totally unused tickets may be sold or given to anyone else of the appropriate age.
