I have read that in true Disney tradition  Nemo's mom and the rest of the eggs she lays "disappear" my question is how? My 3 yo DD is dying to see this movie but I am worried about how the movie gets rid of the mom. The rest of the movie looks great and the reviews are wonderful but some have said that is darker than Monsters or Toy Story 1 & 2. Can anyone tell me what they think?

TIA!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I too am wondering about this movie... Would really like to take DS... And, from the early previews it looks like it is Okay for the younger kids. But, the latest previews do look just a bit 'darker' or 'heavier'.

Hope some of you guys can give some feedback!!!

"Marlin and Coral realize that all of the other creatures in their "neighborhood" are gone and hiding. They then spot a large and menacing fish and Coral races to protect their nearby eggs. It then races at them and bites at them, with Marlin hitting it and it then hitting him with its tail. When Marlin comes to, he discovers that Coral is gone as are all but one of their 400 eggs (we never know what happened to them or her). "

In the Atlanta Journal & Constitution newspaper this morning, the review said that a shark eats all but one of the eggs, and analogized the scene to Bambi. I will try to find the review online and post it.

interesting.. screenit said it didn't show anything eating the eggs...

But I'm 23 I think I can handle it :p

It was done very well...........didn't seem to bother any of the "million" kids in the theater today.

The mom dives down to the eggs when they see the shark..........the dad gets "hit"and knocked out....everything goes dark. When it gets light again he is coming to, and mom and all the eggs, except one are gone. You just assume what happened...........;)

I'm with Meriwether on this 1...Pixar did this very well. I think only 1 child in the theatre I was in actually started crying :( .

The children seemed fine in the theatre. There were parents tearing up though.:D

Pixar did really really well with this. They showed enough for you to draw your own conclusion and really left it up to the parent to decide should they have to answer that question during the movie. Dorian didn't ask but said it was sad that the mom and babies disapeared. He is 6. it didn't really faze him at all and he loved the movie. So did I...
