A question for the ladies

I'm sorry that you've had bad experiences there, Esmeralda. I've never had snippy service there--they've always been really helpful to me and DD. I also buy stuff when it's on sale and regarding the quality--it's always been top notch. I have bras and underwear that are probably 5 years old and they've held up great. I wash and dry them in a mesh bag and they stay in wonderful shape.

Thats because there is nothing to fit your friend who is a size 14 in that store. The salesclerk was correct.

I have to disagree

friend of mine is 5'10, a size 14 (rather full figured on top and bottom) and has no problems shopping for anything there.

I've never encountered rude sales girls at VS...maybe pushy ones, but never rude. and that comes from shopping in Mass, Rhode Island, and connecticut

My sister and I (both 5'10" size 14 kinda girls) went in there recently and ended up having a huge giggle fest. The salesclerk told my sister that she might be better off in the full figure shop down further in the mall. We just started giggling and couldn't stop. Needless to say, the teddy we were buying for our size 4 cousin for her wedding shower got bought in the department store where no one made any recommendations of where to buy our underwear. :p

That's what bugs me...how do they know we weren't buying for someone else? She could have been buying for her sister's wedding shower, or looking for perfume or body gel or something for a gift basket for a friend... the clerks have no idea.

Not only that but I was there, and I'm not that big (size 8ish) and while they supposedly make stuff in my size, I have yet to have it actually fit me.

Well, I'm a size 14 and not exactly full figured, more or less of average size for my height, and I can tell you for sure nothing fits me in that store. :) Glad to hear your friend had the opposite experience. :)

I must go and investigate this situation.

Let see if they are rude to me

I think most of the women (NOT ALL!!) that shop in VS do so just so they can tell their girlfriends where they buy their underwear!

Heaven forbid someone buy a bra from Target! :p

I am almost 5'10 and a size 6 and I shop there. And EsmereldaX is right..there is no excuse for her saying that without asking who she was buying for.

Only if you tell us what you are going to try on:smooth: :smooth:

yeah - FYI monkeyboy - the sales girls will NOT model anything for you!

I used to shop there in my younger, thinner days but stopped after their overpriced bras fell apart within 2 months. I actually had a clerk tell me that I shouldn't expect them to last longer than that. Yeah okay! Maybe if I was wearing it daily and washing it daily it would only last 2 months.

I buy bras from Target all the time Blondie! Some of my favorites have been from there actually.

Well, ummm, most women who are 5'10" aren't a size 6. At least the 5'10" women I know. The undergarments are tailored to the very small woman, and the salesclerks, at least in this area, will let you know that. Its pretty funny, actually, or at least we got a big laugh out of it. My sister and I are proud of our big-girl-ness, though, and not exactly the type to be overally insulted. I think the sales clerk who gave my sister that advice was disappointed she didn't make a bigger impact. :p

Blondie, I buy a ton of stuff at Target! :) No bras or panties, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. :)

LOL! Not the last time I checked. But I do shop there not pregnant.

Well, I know somewhere they sell maternity thongs because a nurse I work with wears them!
