A question for the ladies??

Due to the mixed reports on GHD's working in the US, I have a little theory.

Could it be it depends on your hair?

My hair is mega thick and naturally curly, and no other straighteners apart from GHD's can actually get my hair to be and stay straight. Believe me I must have tried dozens of cheapy pairs before GHD's arrived - what did I do without them?!

Some people who use GHD's could probably get away with using other (dare I say cheaper) makes - but we all know GHD's are the best :thumbsup2

So what I'm saying is, perhaps when GHD's are used in the US, they become less effective, but some people's hair doesn't really need the full power of GHD's, so their hair is still easily straightened.

So if your hair straightens very easily, this may not be a problem!

my worked well, but then i have hair as thin as my nans!

so maybe you are right......

I think it looks like I will have to buy the new generation GHD's and just sell my old ones on Ebay or something. My hair is naturally thick and wavy, I am half Italian and GHD's have been the only thing to work for me, *sigh*

I don't have anything to add on the hairstraightners but we fly out on the day of your wedding and we go on the DCL three night wonder cruise on Thursday 23rd. Which cruise are you on? I have also booked Victoria and Alberts for the Saturday 18th August. I'll be looking out for you and checking to see if your hairstraightners are working!!!!

Hope you have the best time ever

Hi all

I am getting married in WDW on August 17th and I am wanting to take my hair straightners in particular, they are GHD's!!!! I have heard however that all appliances from abroad lose a tremendous amount of power, therefore leaving my straightners useless. Now I am a girl that depends on her hair straightners, I have very thick, long hair that I straighten every time I wash my hair and I couldn't possibly go 3 weeks without doing this.
Can any women that have previously been to Orlando put my mind at ease and tell me that my straightners will be okay?

Thanks

Hi
mine are also GHD and i have taken them to Orlando and NYC.
They do heat up but not hot enoguht for the red light to blink. They are hot enoguth to straighten my hair(but mine is wavey and thin). I think if i was getting wed i would cut my lossess and buy a US pair!

Good luck, Ruth

Aww, I am on the cruise from the 30th of August for 3 nights. I haven't came across anyone yet that is going on the same cruise as us. Maybe we'll have the cruise to ourselves:confused3 Your'e going the day after us to V & A, what hotel are you staying at for your vacation?

We are staying at Saratoga Springs Resort (Disney Vacation Club)

I had real trouble booking the time we wanted for Victoria and Alberts as we wanted a later sitting and they only did late sittings for Fridays and Saturdays the whole of August. We are on the cruise the second weekend and fly in on the Friday so too risky to book it then which only left the Saturday 18th.

I have booked Jikos for 29th August and I note you staying at AKL perhaps we will bump into you then.

Hope you have the best time.
