A Question for small framed woman.

ohh baybeeeee, little women are sexy, but so are big women :scratchin

You know you think there is no ugly woman.....:lmao:

Thanks Pop daddy, evertime I hear this song I think of you:

I've known some painted ladies that sparkled in the light
Country girls that loved a lover?s moon
Some I never really knew though I always wanted to
Some I only met once in a room

Some said they liked my smile others of them stayed a while
While others left me on the run
This is the only way only way I have to say
Mmm, I loved them everyone

Big, little, short or tall wish I had kept them all
Mmm I loved them everyone
Like to thank them for their charms and holding me in their arms
And I hope they had some fun

Here's to the ladies in saloons and living rooms
Summer nights that lasted until dawn
Here's to the memories everyone's a part of me
Oh I loved them everyone

Big, little, short or tall wish I had kept them all
Mmm I loved them everyone
Like to thank them for their charms and holding me in their arms
And I hope they had some fun

Big, little, short or tall wish I had kept them all
Mmm I loved them everyone
Like to thank them for their charms and holding me in their arms
And I hope they had some fun

Yes, my size 2 (sometimes 1 or 0) is knocking on death's door.....someone please make me eat.....

I have this exact shirt. From Express, right? :)

I'm a 0 or 00, too. I find that I'm okay when it comes to shirts. I wear a XS, but a S will work, too, most of the time. I have trouble w/ things dealing with the waist - pants, skirts and some dresses.

I do shop at Ann Taylor Loft, NY & Company, Gap, Express, The Limited, Target and just discovered Aeropostale. I buy jeans from Charlotte Russe. I've tried jeans on EVERYWHERE and these are the only ones that fit the way I want and are the correct length.

I bought a jean skirt out of the girls dept at Old Navy. It's a size 12 or 14 and fits fine.

Also, anyone know where I can get a cute belt? They're always too big.

Off topic a little: I went to buy new jeans the other day and turned out to be a size 4, and my Macy's didn't carry lower than a size 6 in anything but the more expensive designer jeans. I just wanted the cheap ones which only came in 6 to 16. And really, I shouldn't even be a size 4, they just keep increasing the definition of the women's sizes. Now, the junior sizes run a lot smaller than women's sizes. I still wear a 7 and sometimes a 9 in the junior stuff. I wish they would have left sizes the same as they always were, so if we're getting too big we know it.

Off topic: You don't look at all like I pictured you, TM2. You're cute, just different than I thought.

Yes!!! The shirt is from Express, most of my clothes are b/c I can't find small sizes at Macys or Dillards. I also have a lovely blue blouse similar to that and it looks smashing with my size 0 white cargo pants with blue flowers.:thumbsup2

Why thank you Momof2!:) Now we need your picture, we need to show everyone that small sizes are not "Ethiopians"......

I'm so jealous of all you skinny women :) I was a 3 until I went on Anti-Hiv meds... Now I fight for size 8 at 5 ft 3
TiggerMom..You're beautiful

Some more ideas for small clothes:

Marciano.com and Guess.com. These run rather small. The size 24 jeans are about a 0 or 00. I think sometimes they carry size 23 but not always.

Armaniexchange.com has tops/shirts that run rather small. In some styles the XS is kind of tight on me. They also carry a 00 in some jeans and skirts.

Also try Bebe.com.

Rock and Republic jeans sometimes come in a size 23 that would be equivalent to a 00. You may be able to wear 24.

Parasucco jeans also run small. Not sure if they sell them online though.

Hope that helps!

Pants are my biggest problem I am 00, or 0 and the length is what kills me! I have found the best fitting jeans at Pac Sun, and a couple stores when I vacationed in montreal, but in the states the same pants are $60+

My DD15 is also a zero. She can find pants at Penney's, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Abercrombie and Fitch.

My dd is 5'4- 105 pounds and wears a 00. Healthy as an ox.
When I was 100-105 pounds back in HS, and dd and I are the same build, I wore a 3 or 5. So the sizes are definitely shrinking.

Excellent point.

It looks like the original messages were deleted from the thread. However, I will confirm, based on my personal experience, that sizes have inflated over the years. I have recently lost a large amount of weight. I am currently about 130 lbs, and were size 4. Size 6 nearly falls off of me. Ten years ago, or so, I weighed 120 lbs. I wore size 6, it fit like a glove. I estimated that when I reach my goal weight of 120 lbs, I will wear size 2. If size 4 fits now, if I lose 10 lbs, that's the way it goes.

When I got married, I weighed 100 lbs. I wore size 5/6. Size 3/4 was too small. If I my goal weight were 100 lbs (it is not), I likely would wear size 00, too. One comment I make is that I may not be "small framed", technically, because even if I am very thin, my hip and shoulder bones are relatively wide, and limit what I can fit into.

both my DD and my freind wear that size and they both shop thru Victoria Secrets catalog mail order! My daughter is very tall, and my firend is very short! both have had good luck wth them!

I do not suffer from any form of eating disorder... if that were the case, I would have never been considered for transplantation. I am just a very small framed person. What I can tell you is this... I love to eat and can eat like a horse for a small person! Yes, people always want to know where I put all that food at that I consume! :thumbsup2

I hate when people say naturally thin people have an eating disorder almost as much as I hate it when people say naturally heavy people are lazy pigs who eat whatever they want. Some people are just more prone to being small or large. Geesh.

I've always considered my grandmother. She is one of 5 sisters. Two of the sisters (one being my grandmother) are very tiny women, no more than 5'2" or so and always less than 100 pounds. The middle sister is of average weight, and the two other sisters are large boned, heavy set women. They all grew up in Italy, in an era where there was no such thing as "junk food", nor were there extras. Each sibling was fed the same amount, they just all had different frames. Seems to me that was accepted a lot more back 20 or 30 years ago - you had tall people, short people, skinny people, fat people - diversity is what makes the world go round. Nowdays if someone is skinny they are anorexic or fat they are lazy. No one can ever consider the genetic component.

Anyway, I'm a size 12 so I can't tell you where to buy your clothes, Ms. Kitty, but it sounds like you got some good suggestions here. I love Banana Republic myself because they cater to the long frame - I see them mentioned here as a store that also caters to petite women, I wouldn't have guessed that. I guess that is a store that realizes women come in all shapes and sizes! :) Good luck shopping!

Can I ask a question with these sizes? Are the 00's and things we are talking about Women's sizes or are they Juniors?

Just reading some of the responses with teens (my DD will be 14 in March, so sounds like she fits in with some of the responses for sizing).

Only because we are at a total loss on what size my DD is/will be in the Junior Department. She's a tiny one and if she follows the charts which looks like she's going to do, she will be 5' 1" or 5' 2" by the time she's fully grown. She's already at about 5'.

We struggle right now with trying to find clothes for her because she still fits in the kid's sections but from my understanding 00's or 0's in Juniors(which I honestly have no idea what sizes those are since they didn't exist when I was growing up) would be the equivelant of some of the bigger girl's sizes??????

We haven't ventured too much into the Junior section because well...she's small and then she gets frustrated. We did recently find a pair of pants at Kohl's which I think were small or x-small in the Junior Dept. but I have no idea what the equivelant for that is.

It's nice to read this thread and get some ideas because she's going to have the small, short problem for quite awhile I think & clothes shopping is always a challenge for us to find her something.

I get my pants in Banana Republic's petite department.

It's dresses and tops that I can't ever find to fit me correctly. I'm assuming all petite women are supposed to be small chested too.

I believe 0 and 00 are "misses" sizes along with 2, 4, 6, 8, etc (even numbers). "Womens" usually means "plus" sizing (large even numbers). Juniors sizes are odd numbers.

I guess I am just large-framed then. Even at my lowest weight in HS 15 years ago, at 5'7" and 115lbs, I wore a size 11. And I thought I was F-A-T because where I lived, in South Florida, that was the largest size most stores carried and was considered an XL. What I wouldn't give to squeeze back into an 11 now!

My best friend back then wore a size 0. She had just as many complaints as I did about finding clothes that fit properly (although different ones), and she often ended up having to shop in the children's department just to find things that didn't gap in the back or fall off of her.
