A Question for small framed woman.

Not sure why a thread asking about where to buy clothes turned into a soap box on how more fat people die because of their weight than skinny people :sad2:

MsDisney, my brother's girlfriend is now a size 2, but she was a 00 up until a couple years ago. She's had success at the petite department of major department stores, Delias, Banana Republic, Guess, and Abecrombie

My friend has this problem and often buys clothes from children's GAP because the styles can be identical and she saves the sales tax :cool1:

The other thing she does is buy vintage since the sizes have been moving up and up she can find back in the day 6's that will fit her

http://unique-vintage.com

Obviously vintage won't be everyone's cup of tea, but this store is nice because she always lists the pertinent dimensions of everything.

You obviously missed the post (that has now been deleted) that said all of us thin women must have eating disorders.

Yes, my size 2 (sometimes 1 or 0) is knocking on death's door.....someone please make me eat.....

You are beautiful! :)

My sister used to find some of her clothes at Limited Too and Gap Kids.

I get my pants in Banana Republic's petite department.

It's dresses and tops that I can't ever find to fit me correctly. I'm assuming all petite women are supposed to be small chested too.

:rotfl2: That's me. Size 4-6 in pants, 8 (if stretchy) dresses sometimes work.

Shirts - another problem - if it fits across the top, the waist part is tooo big!

My aunt has the opposite problem - she is a size 22 or so, but is always searching for tops without darts, as she is un-endowed.

LOL you look great.,. you remind me of the actress who played Jennifer Horton on Day of our lives.

You girls are lucky to have the good genes. I have the crappy ones lol. After 4 kids I have lots of weight to loose. I will be happy at a 12/14. I dont think all the exercising and dieting in the world I could ger that small.

I guess I am just large-framed then. Even at my lowest weight in HS 15 years ago, at 5'7" and 115lbs, I wore a size 11.

I am short, but relatively large-framed. When I was in high school I wore a size 10 but when I see old pictures from that time, I looked like I needed to eat something!!!!!

I have been blessed up top... I call them my Almond Joys! :lmao: :lmao:

Pretty dumb assessment if you ask me!!! I most definatly am petite but small chested nope and yes, they expect you to have nothing on top:confused3

I buy really nice things off ebay, arden b online, and some (Penny's, Dress Barn) stores like that..

While I'm no size 0, I am 6 ft tall, size 10-12 and have issues finding pants/jeans long enough. I have found the www.buckle.com (their pants come in waist size and length rather than just a size 0, which I like cause you seem to get a better fit!) and www.alloy.com sell jeans/pants in all sizes and lengths (which I've come to find that the bigger you are, the shorter they think you get!)

Good luck, I know its frustrating shopping....especially online, look for free shipping so that if you need to return it wont cost you double!

PrincessPatty - have you tried Old Navy for jeans?

I'm average height (5'6") but with their lengths I end up having to buy their "short" jeans. I figure if their short jeans fit an average girl, their long jeans must be really long! Good luck!

Delia's is incredibly awesome for small girls. Not only do they carry sizes 0 and 00, but they have shorter lengths than any other brand I've found. They have 26", 28", 30", 32", 34", and 36". For reference, 32" is about standard and made for a woman who is 5'6". I'm 4'11" and I wear a 28", but I could stand a 26" in some styles. The best time to get pants from Delia's is when they are on sale buy one, get one half off, or when they go on clearance. I used to work at Delia's, but of course they didn't have the short inseams then.

I've found plenty of brands that have sizes 0 and 00 in the juniors department at Kohl's, but the lengths are usually too long and I have to cuff them; Hydraulic, LEI, Angels, Glo, SO, Union Bay, Mudd, etc.

Banana Republic and The Gap have a petites line, but the inseam only goes as low as 30", which isn't enough for us shorter ladies.

For the record, I'm 21 years old, 4'11", and the most I've ever weighed was 93 pounds. I do not have an eating disorder. I'm just small.
