We are travelling to Northern Ireland in a few weeks to visit family, and want to bring gifts to all the children (10 kids, ages 5-20). I already have aeropastale t-shirts for them all (they are all girls), but I'm looking for ideas of something small (like candy or such) to put with it. I know better than to bring them chocolate, since our chocolate stinks compared to yours, but is there some other type of thing that your kids have enjoyed that you only saw in America?

Jelly belly havent quite made it over here yet the way they did in the US, and they're fantastic (and flavour matching fun)!
Otherwise, I sometimes quite enjoy the peanut butter chocolates of the USA (butterfinger, reeses etc) which again doesnt enjoy the same popularity over here.

On a personal note, I think Marshmallow fluff is fantastic, and Ive never seen it in the UK, but Im not sure if that is just me, or what you would do with it without the rest of a sundae to acompany it.

When I was a child, we used to make peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches, using the Marshmallow Fluff. They called them Fluffernutters!

Looking back, I think they sound disgustingly sweet, but we loved them back then!

 jfranklyn, just a thought, you could bring the makings for S'mores, that is, if they don't have them in Northern Ireland. :goodvibes

I agree with the Jelly Belly, pr how about Pez. I always enjoy stocking up on Baby Ruth, butter fingers and tootsie rolls whilst in the US.

What part of N.Ireland are you visiting?

Oh the contents of Dylans Candy Bar would be sufficient I think! :cool1:

You can come visit me in Larne, Co Antrim if you're bringing candy over :rotfl2:

But seriously, those huge big hard lollipops on sticks are great. The ones you get here pale in comparison.

Gummy bears
Jelly beans
An assortment of chewing gum. You just can't get anything like the stuff from the States here.
Weird flavours of Tic Tacs, not mint, orange, lime. Stuff like cinnamon

Does it seem like I have a sweetie fixation??? :rotfl:

Have a great time! Hope you bring the weather with you. It's a bit rubbish at the moment.......
