I have a question that may just sound too simple or stupid!

Can I transfer my SSR points over to an Aulani owner and have them make me reservations at 11 months?

I'm guessing I wonder why they'd want to do that for anyone, except to be nice.

Maybe a transfer of some extra points along with what would be needed for my res?

Does this go against any disboard or DVC policies?

just askin', not planning a trip till 2016, but getting ideas, and would love to book at 11 months if possible, w/o owning at Aulani myself.

Transferred points keep their home resort. SSR points that were transferred to an Aulani owner would still be SSR points that could only be used to book Aulani at the 7 month window.

Yes, I understand that. I guess I'm suggesting a swap. My points (or some extra) for theirs.

They would book Aulani for me using their Aulani points.

A swap could work if you can find an Aulani owner that is willing to make the swap with you - that would take alot of trust on both sides. Maybe you could rent your SSR points out thru a broker, and use that money to buy a transfer in of Aulani points.

I would never "swap" Aulani points for SSR. The cost per point value isn't anywhere near equal. Also, SSR has the most availability of all the WDW resorts and therefore 11month booking window is not necessary, IMHO.

Agreed, the SSR owner would need to pony up additional money or points but I don't think the difference is as great as some might think it is. I don't think Aulani will be a difficult reservation overall at 7 months out once complected, certain views likely an exception. Plus at 7 months, a point is a point. The risks are fairly high in this situation as well. It's the same principle as discussing permanent trades but the specifics and numbers are different.
