A question about the shuttles...

Thank you's to everyone who answered my earlier questions!!! I'm betting someone here will know this one, too.

We're staying at Howard Johnsons. Does the shuttle you can catch from there to the parks go to the Disney hotels? I was thinking of booking breakfast at one of them, but really don't want to start the day with that looong haul over there.

A tag...we're going over Memorial Day weekend. Do they usually end up having full parks over that weekend? I'm wondering whether I should plan to go back to the motel for a nap and grab a bite at McDonalds on the way back or if we should plan on staying in the parks.

The ART shuttles have different routes. The one from Howard Johnson to the parks does not go to the Disney hotels. It picks up at the closest hotels and then drops off at the shuttle stop at Disneyland. If you look at this arial photo find the world ADVENTURE from California adventure. About half an inch to the richt you will see three small circles. That is the shuttle drom off area. To walk from there to the Grand Californian would be about 4-6 minutes. To the Disneyland hotel (Goofy's Kitchen in particular) would be 10 - 12 minutes.

If you are staying at the HoJo's on Harbor Blvd, the walk from there to the gates of DL/DCA is 7 - 10 minutes. From the concourse where the park gates are to Goofy's Kitchen is another 10 minutes. It's actually a very pleasant walk thru Downtown Disney.

Unless someone in your party has mobility issues, it will be faster/easier to walk than to deal with the ART. We have tried the ART and have found it's much quicker to walk to/from HoJo's (where we always stay) than deal with the ART.

We usually book a later breakfast at Goofy's. We go to DL first thing (get there 20 - 30 minutes before the park opens on Mem. Day weekend) enjoy the park for an hour or two, then take the monorail over. From the monorail it's a very short walk to Goofy's, 4 - 5 minutes.
