So many people like them. Aren’t they very hard because of the board under the mattress ?

Thank you. That was a question for my husband. He thought the studio queen in RR was hard and it was difficult to sleep on. I had suggested he try the Murphy bed. He didn’t try it, and gave me the excuse. I really enjoyed staying at RR, and we don’t always need a one bedroom. He’ll try the Murphy bed next time.

The new style beds with storage underneath at WDW should have a board under the mattress. Mattress technology has come a long way. Every box spring that I have ever handled has just been basically a hard wooden frame. It basically just lifts the mattress higher off the ground.

Whether if's the bed or the murphy the experience will be the same. Box springs pretty much don't exist anymore, it just a wooden frame covered with cloth. Same with playform beds which DVC is going to, which allows for storage under the bed.

I have tried the Murphy beds at the Poly and SSR. They were so hard that I couldn’t sleep on them. I slept on the bed under the TV. I know mattresses are subjective, but to me they were very firm.

All the newer regular beds I think are platform beds now to (no boxsprings) , so the wall bed should be the same.
