a question about the Atkins diet

I've been thinking about giving this diet a try. I already have some problems with low bloodsugar so this may be good for me. One thing I've been wondering about is what do you eat for breakfast every morning. I can't imagine not having cereal or bagels or pancakes etc. I do love omelets but don't have time to cook them every morning! So what do you have for breakfast?

Atkins now has bagels, pancake mix and cereal. I had a bagel with cream cheese the other day. I haven't tried the cereal yet. I try not to eat those things too often because I don't lose as well when I do.

During induction I ate bacon with a hard boiled egg or cheese most mornings. I got the pre-cooked microwave kind. Now I mostly eat yogurt for breakfast. Blue Bunny Lite 85 or Kroger Lite yogurt are both sweetened with Splenda.

Every once in a while I'll have a bowl of oatmeal or a slice of low carb bread. This morning I had a sausage McMuffin with egg, no bun.

My dh is diabetic and controls his blood sugar very well with Atkins. :)

I had leftover chicken from last night breaded with Keto crumbs. Yesterday, I had Atkins cereal. It is surprisingly good and filling even when you are eating only 2/3 cup.

I also like the Keto "oatmeal" and Low Carb Success flaxseed cereal.

I sometimes have eggs for breakfast, but I've been known to eat leftover whatever from the previous night's dinner.

I also keep Atkins shakes and breakfast bars on hand for when there is absolutely no time for anything else.

LisaTX,
Thank you for posting the information on Blue Bunny Yogurt - I have been craving yogurt!

I am not a big breakfast eater, but a slice of leftover meat, an egg, or smoked salmon wrapped around a little cream cheese are all good breakfast foods.

For breakfast each morning, I have a Ham and cheese omelet...Yummy! Not much variety in my breakfast but that is because I love omelets and could each them for each meal!:p

I was a huge bread lover before I started Atkins, but honestly I don't even miss them...(okay, well I do, but not enough to have one!;))...anyway, like Lisa said, they have low carb tortillas, bagels, bread, ect now, so I don't even miss regular bread at all anymore! It is great! :)

Good Luck if you decide to try Atkins!! :) We will all be here ready to support you on whatever you decide!! :)

My son was bored with omelets so I started making him the Atkins pancakes. He can't WAIT to get up every morning. Make a batch and just reheat them the next morning. He eats them with just butter but there are some awesome low carb no sugar syrups out there.

Sometimes I eat leftovers from the night before just because it's there! Those parmesan crusted chicken tenders are AWESOME the next day!
