Both my son and I have DVC contracts. We travel together as two families and one trip we use his points the next we use mine. So here comes the question. We have a trip booked in August using his points that are banked from 2019(we both have a March UY). The points he used for that trip will expire Feb 28 2021.He has no more available points. I have available points. Do you think that if I booked a trip with my points by the end of Feb 2021 Member Services would let us then use his about to expire points for that trip if our August trip gets canceled? Would they let us change the reservation to his membership from mine? Thanks for you input, .just a way to try and figure out how to save points instead of going to RCI

Under current rules, you cannot do what you propose. You cannot move points in one member’s account into a reservation in another member’s account. The only way that can be done is by first transferring points from one member to the other, but a member cannot transfer points that have already been banked.

Unfortunately, his points are banked and they would not be eligible for a transfer,

So, those points can only be used on his membership

So then if I canceled my reservation there would be a chance that he would not get the rooms I cancel. I was hoping that MS would be able to coordinate that

No, there is no way for them to hold your room to then rebook on his membership,

If there was no wait list, then sure...but as long as a waitlist is in place the system will pick those rooms up first,

Now, sometimes you cancel and they show up, but no guarantee
