A Question About Eeyore?

Alice's Mom said:
An explanation may be that 100 years ago baby colors were bright pink for boys and soft blue for girls. Bright pink was big, striking, lots of personality, whereas soft blue represented quiet, subdued and calm. Glad it switched eventually.

I read this somewhere on the internet when I was expecting 5 years ago.

Here's a link that backs up what you have to say.. I too had read that. http://www.answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=238733 :Pinkbounc

Eeyore didn't have a tail ribbon in the Shepard illustrations in the books; it's a Disney addition. So color preferences from 100 years ago don't mean much, unless the Disney illustrators were following them in 1966.

Eeyore is definitely a boy; Christopher Robin Milne was a boy, and so all of his animals were boys, except Kanga, who couldn't be a boy, what with being a mom and all.

While we're on the subject, am I the only one who finds it odd that Pooh wears a shirt so small that it looks like it belongs to Piglet? And no pants. What's up with that? :confused3 Pooh, cover up your goodies, would ya? :rotfl:

They are both boys, they are just really stylish, like before their time stylish. All the men will be wearing piglets outfit in 06.

Like Donald Duck, Pooh has no goodies...unless you count his honey pots ;)

And what about Flower the skunk..? I was about 14 before I realised 'Hey! That's a boy!'.

Disney was really pushing boundaries with Bambi, what with killing off his mother and introducing an extremely camp (yet heterosexual) character!

And yes, I love it that Donald usually only wears a top but insists on putting a towel around his lower half when getting out of the tub/shower! :rotfl:

for real. anyone know why eeorye has a pink bow on his tail?

From Disney's website;

"Eeyore doesn't see himself as gloomy; he just has low expectations. Eeyore's tiny bright pink bow on his tail, the one hint of color against his grey, is a perfect symbol of the kernel of joy that occasionally surfaces in him."

Hope that answers it. I had to look that up a few months ago for a friend who does a newsletter. :magnify:

Honey pots! :rotfl2: So Daisy and Donald...strictly platonic?

Laughed out loud --really loud at all the comments. Had all the kids round the PC laughing with me. What a fun topic this turned out

But of course! All Disney relationships are strictly platonic ;)

Hey, we may have stumbled onto the real reason all the heroes/heroines come from single parent homes! :rotfl: Disney males have no goodies! :rotfl2:

Laurie :teeth:

If no one gets a tag from this thread, it will be a serious travesty of justice. This thread is full of tag potential. Honey pots? Goodies?

You might be on to something. I don't think I'd stick around. I mean, you gotta have the goodies, right?

And if you have goodies.. You should cover them... *nod* *looks around suspiciously, wraping the towel tightly*

That`s funny..I was discussing this with some of my friends some weeks ago.
A lot of people think Eeyore is a girl, because of the pink bow..
but I`m pretty sure Eeyore is a male..which makes him look..well, gay :confused3 `
I can`t remember seeing the original Eeyore with a pink bow..
I think that`s something Disney added ;)

When I was a kid..I always thought Piglet was a girl for some reason..
I thought he was pooh`s "girlfriend"..lol ;)
