A Pre-Trip Report by a 5 yo princess...The final countdown!!

Congrats!! I still have most of our trip left to pay on. Since we are going 10 months apart for a total of 13 days, I've almost talked my DH into buying AP's. The best part is that when we buy the AP's my youngest DS will be 9. By the time of our 2nd trip he will be 10, but the AP we bought at a child price will still be good for our 2nd trip (or so I've been told).

Do the math, but I think if you are going for 10 or more days the AP is the best price. I know an 8 day and a 10 day would have cost us $300 more than the AP. Plus I'm hoping to get a third trip out of it before it expires next August. Here is a tip I learned today though, prices are about to go up on tickets and AP's, CM said they just got a memo about it and if you buy the AP from the disney store it will expire 1 yr from purchase, not 1 yr from date of use. However, if you buy them online or over the phone, you will still receive the voucher and it will expire 1 yr from the date you take it to GS and activate it. Hope that helps some.

Yeah, I did the math and showed it to my DH, but he is still not sold on it even with a $300 savings. I even told him about the other savings we can get on our Grand Gathering, but even that didn't do it. It'll just take sometime to convince him, which I 99% of the time can do. They told me when I called Disney that since I am already booked, that I would have to wait until we got to the park and then upgrade them and pay the difference. I would love to squeeze another trip in, even if it's just me and the DH.

Why on earth would he not want to save $300??? My dh would have said go for it just for that reason. Not sure why they said you had to wait??? I was able to change my ressie from a package to room only and I got to keep my 40% off code as well. I told them why I wanted to change it and it was no problem?:confused3

Just wanted to check in to see how the prettiest Disney Princess is doing.:goodvibes

She is doing well, thanks for asking! She is going to try to go back to school tomorrow. Did you convince your dh yet?:rotfl: :lmao:

Not yet, but I am not giving up b/c it's the option that makes the most sense to me. Besides before every WDW trip he's told me no, and I'm now planning trips 3 & 4 as a family.
I'm hoping to get my brother and sister in law addicted and maybe we can do this GG every year.

LOL! That would be neat! Now see you are better than I am, because a $300 savings, well I would just buy them and tell him to get over it!:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

His thing is that he doesn't know if we'll have the extra money when we go to pay for the difference from our MYW tickets to the AP's. (This trip is costing us close to $8,000. It's that uber once in a life time trip.) To upgrade the difference would be $700 more this trip. I keep telling him that we wouldn't have to buy tickets for next year's trip, the rooms would be cheaper, John could still use the child AP next trip, and overal it's $300 cheaper. Plus what ever room discount we could get.

How was Aubrey's first day back? Luckily Joey was able to have his in the summer. Unfortunately, he had it done on my wedding anniversary.

I think I shot myself in the foot when it comes to the AP's, or at least I made it harder on myself. My DH just has a prepaid cell phone b/c it's just for emergecies only b/c of his long drive to and from work. I went into the AT&T store just to get him a new phone b/c the one he had could only use a special headset that would have cost more than the phone. Well instead of him getting a new phone, I got a new Blackberry. Since I just spent $400, I don't know if I can convince him to buy the AP's, or at least it made it harder to convince him to get them.

Good Luck! LOL How do you like the blackberry? Dh has an older one and I hate it. I want something like it, but was wondering how improved they are? His is a few years old.

Aubrey had a mixed day. She cried and tried to climb back in the van to hide. But after I got her inside and left she did ok. I'm going to have lunch with her today. She is getting to wear her birthday crown finally and have her cupcakes.

Anyway, got to get busy. I'll be back on later to tell you all about the deals I got yesterday!

Well, I just bought a Blackberry Pearl, but so far I like it. I told them that I wanted something with a really good calendar on it with a loud alarm. That way, I can set it for our ADR's for our Disney trip.

Hmm I'll have to check it out.

Ok, here is what I have accomplished thus far... LOL

Today I booked dh's golf. He'll be thrilled. :thumbsup2

Yesterday, I ran to Walmart and scored some good deals. We are making a few T-shirts for this trip as well as our August trip. Well Wally world had mens plain colored T's on sale for $4 each. Nothing in the womens dept of course. But they had pink in the mens, so I scored a couple of shirts for dh along with a few of the pink ones for me. I will probably end up going back for more. I also got Ashton 3 plain T's for $3 each and I got Aubrey 4 plain T's for $3.50 each!  So now, I get to start printing out transfers and start ironing. In fact, the dryer just stopped so I better go get them out before they wrinkle!:laundy:

Making your own t-shirts is a great idea. My s.i.l. wanted us to all have matching t-shirts for our Grand Gathering. I was going to order them though Disney Grand Gatherings, but my DH is a little Pooh sized (6XL t-shirts). The largest they have on the site is 5XL, and that just won't work. I have a Disney photo shopt thing, so I can just make them.

I have a lot of fun making the shirts. I can't remember what size the shirts at walmart went up to though, but i do know they had some larger sizes.

Hey everyone. Aubrey says hello. That child has been so silly this evening. She is loving her mix max. Dh has put tons of her movies on cards for her and we finally found some headphones that will stay on her head! LOL

Oh and our AP vouchers came in the mail!!!! WooHOOO!!!

Aside from that, not much going on. Just busy as ever. Trying to get thru the last 2 wks of school, a gymnastics recital, start cheerleading practice, summer camp oh and DISNEY!!! LOL

Take care everyone and have a safe Memorial Weekend!
