A Pre Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation, Our First Split Stay & Our 5th Trip to Disney!

The busted ticker stinks. I gave up and made a new one. I need to keep count. It's for my own mental health.

Guess what I just bought?!

Star Wars in Concert tickets!! :darth:

http://www.starwarsinconcert.com/

I found out about it from a DISer friend and looked it up and sure enough it is coming to Pittsburgh in November.

Normally we wouldn't spend money on anything like this right after vacation, but Star Wars is the kids absolute favorite thing in the world!! And it is going to be a surprise. We aren't going to tell them until that day and it is going to be their Christmas present from DH and I. So the gifts under the tree will all be from Santa. :santa: Usually they are about half from us and half from Santa. Oh, and the gifts will be half the amount of what they usually get!! :rotfl:Dang those SW tickets are expensive!

I would have preferred to go to the Daughtry concert that is 3 days before our vacation but I couldn't justify spending the money. Then I end up spending twice the money for Star Wars tickets. :faint:

Hooray You got tickets for it!!!! Your boys are going to be thrilled!!!!! Just don't tell my DS...shhhh. Take lots of pics!!

Hunter would absolutely have a heart attack if the Star Wars concert was coming to our town. The closest is in Dallas and it's this Friday. Phooey!

Oh my gosh! The boys are going to be soooooo excited!!! They sure get some good surprises! :goodvibes

I still remember when I was in the fifth grade and we went to see the symphony. The first song they played was the theme from Star Wars. I was in total awe that there were real people playing the music right in front of me. The boys will remember this forever!!!

Hey, I'll go see Daughtry with you! :woohoo: I saw him perform once (at the American Idol Concert) and he was absolutely A.MAZ.ING. :faint:

They are going to flip! :yay::yay:

I was able to print the tickets and they say No Flash Photography on them. :sad2: I need to find a way around that! I have to have my pictures!!!

Sorry it's not coming closer to you. Keep checking, maybe they will add more dates/locations!

I know, my kids are so spoiled!

This will be their first symphony experience. I'm guessing they are going to really enjoy it! :thumbsup2

I'm so jealous. I really really want to see Daughtry! :lovestrucMaybe someday. . .

The day is almost done...still no ticker :sad2: ... looks like you better make a new one. At least it will move quickly since you're so close! :thumbsup2

No flash photography! I'm sure they'll sell a set of pics for you to buy but I'm sure it will cost you about as much as you probably spent on the tickets for the show- there goes your Disney trip $$$ ! :scared1::scared1:

Hey, do you check Accuweather for Orlando? The last few trips, they have been closer to the mark (for days far out) than the Weather Channel...right now the 15 days out are showing to Nov3 or 4th...it is in the 70s!!! Looks pretty good...not sure about the next week yet...but just wanted to tell you that is a pretty good forecasting site!!! It is showing us to be 65 on Halloween!:yay: It's usually in the 80s and HOT!!! Our poor kids always sweat and are so miserable when Trick or Treating down here...at least it'll be a bit cooler!!!

I have been checking MSN weather and the weather.com everyday. They are both 10 days out. Not sure why I check it. It changes everyday. And I am convinced that no one can predict the weather correctly more than 2-3 days out.

The next 10 days on msn:
83
84
87
87
84
86
86
82
82
74

And lots of rain.

The next 10 days on weather.com:
81
86
88
90
83
85
85
85
85
84

And some rain.

:confused3

Off to check Accuweather now. . . .

Speaking of weather - it is gorgeous here!!! :goodvibes:cool1: Sunny and 70!

Too bad it is supposed to be 47 and raining for soccer Sunday. We just can't catch a break on soccer game days this month. :sad2:

I just checked accuweather. It looks like after the 31st it is supposed to cool down into the 70's. That would be perfect! Let's hope that ends up to be correct! :wizard:

I hope you have a nice cool day for trick or treating. We are usually freezing and wet.

Love the new ticker! I have a friend who swears by weatherunderground.com... just in case you want another place to obsess over the weather. :rolleyes1 (I do the same thing of course. ;))

We are having the same weather stretch here - and we too are expecting rain in time for soccer this weekend! :headache:

Oh good, another website to obsess over!! :rotfl: Actually I have looked at that one before but forgot about it. Thanks!:goodvibes

Isn't that just the way it goes for soccer? :sad2:

Are you all ready to make your ADR's??? popcorn::

Is anyone else freaking out about this whole flu thing???

I am starting to a bit. You should have seen me at the grocery store & Walmart this morning wiping down the cart with the sanitizing wipes. I am normally not like that. I am paranoid that one or all of us are going to get sick shortly before (or during) vacation.

My SIL emailed me to see if I was taking the boys trick or treating. She doesn't think she is going to take her little boy because she doesn't want to expose him to anymore germs/sickness than he already is at school everyday. I hadn't even thought of that. :sad2:

Then I heard from another DISer that by the end of this month 60% of Americans will have H1N1.

I stocked up on fruits, juices, soap, hand sanitizer, and airborne at the store this morning. Not really much else I can do short of pulling the kids out of school!

Yeah I am mildly freaking out. Eliska gets her flu shot tomorrow but her pediatrician doesn't have their shipment of H1N1 vaccines yet. I know she'll get one when they arrive, but I was seriously hoping it would be sooner than later.

I have to admit, part of my freaking out is that I don't want her to get sick in time for the Disneyland trip :p Do not poopoo on my pixie dust fix, hamthrax!

Then I heard from another DISer that by the end of this month 60% of Americans will have H1N1.

I've heard numbers like that but not that it would happen by the end of the month. I heard over the entire flu season but not in the month of October.

No & Yes... I'm not ready for my ADRs yet - I need to post an update today... and YES - I'm freaking out about H1N1.

I'm VERY reluctant to have the kids vaccinated - if it were even available... because of the whole autism thing. It's not that I definitely think vaccines caused Alex's autism and Zach's delays, but I feel as though they have more sensitive sysytems - which of course is a double edged sword - they could be more prone to vaccine side effects but they could also be more at risk for H1N1 complications. I don't know... :confused3 But yes - the whole thing is freaking me out.

And now I guess I have to take sanitizing wipes to all the packages of candy they get on trick or treat! :rolleyes1

I know, I am not only freaking out about them getting sick, but have the whole vacation thing to contend with too.

I hope you are right and the 60% is over the entire flu season, and not just by the end of this month.

You better get on those ADR's!!

I am reluctant about the H1N1 vaccine too. Just because it is so new. I am afraid there will be unsuspected side effects. I didn't even ask when the doctor's office was getting it when we were in for their regular flu shot Saturday.
