A Pre Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation, Our First Split Stay & Our 5th Trip to Disney!

I just called Disney to confirm our ADR's. I normally call about the week before, but thought I'd just do it now. I made several over the phone, several online, and cancelled several, so I wanted to make sure everything was correct!

Looks like all is good! :thumbsup2

Let's go, I'm ready to eat!! :goodvibes

Awesome dining list. I expect a full report with pictures. :)

I am reluctant about the H1N1 vaccine too. Just because it is so new. I am afraid there will be unsuspected side effects. I didn't even ask when the doctor's office was getting it when we were in for their regular flu shot Saturday.

I'm very hesitant about both vaccines right now, H1N1 because it's so new and the seasonal one because of the timing! If everyone is getting sick so fast right now (which they are in my area~many schools are closed due to illness, more every day), is it a good time to knock your defenses down at all???

I called my pediatrician's office this morning to get their thoughts and it didn't really matter...because they don't have ANY seasonal flu vaccine. It's all gone! She said to call everyday to see if they get any more. That's convenient, huh?

Your ADRs are inspiring me to get cracking on mine!! 6 days to go until I have to have at least Day 1 figured out. :scared1:

The newness of the vaccine is what scares me too... We do vaccinate our kids even though it scares me and I feel they are vulnerable to side effects, we just do it cautiously by spreading them out. I haven't heard anything about bad side effects from the H1N1 vaccine yet, but I still feel like it's early. We'll see... it could be a while before it's even available.

We were at WDW when the whole thing broke out in April and I was a hand sanitizer freak!! You should have seen me! I'd be doing exactly what you are if I were leaving this soon.

I can't believe they don't have any! :scared1: Is there a clinic or somewhere else you can take them to get it?

This was the first year the boys got the mist instead of the shot. DS10 sneezed the entire day he got it. I'm not sure any stayed in! :rotfl: Both the boys have had a cough all this week, but no fever.

Do you have to call each day 180 days out since you are staying offsite? That will be a pain! But hey, it gives you more time to work out your days!

I will be cleaning and sanitizing the resort room before we even unpack. And I doubt we will have housekeeping come in much, if at all. The less people in there to spread germs the better.

This is actually pretty common this year unfortunately. They put a lot of the resources that would normally make the seasonal flu vaccine into making the H1N1. This has resulted in a shortage of the regular flu vaccine.

We were supposed to have our free shots here at work last week but it's been postponed until sometime in November (not even scheduled at this point) due to the shortage.

The ex-wife of one of my brother's moved to Houston in the last year and hasn't been able to get her 10 month old in for a shot either. The rest of the family can get their shots at Target (her husband works for Target and they give the shots free to all family members over the age of 2).

I'm just happy I made Eliska's appointment when I did. I imagine we'd be out of luck as well if I hadn't 'reserved' her a spot sometime ago.

Yes - I have to call or go online each day... I don't think we are going to have any ADRs for Sunday so I'm off the hook for dealing with the chaos on 10/27. While I get to make adjustments as needed day by day, it also means that I have to get up early every day. Online ADRs start at 6am - some have said they have been able to make them as early as 3am (yes - eastern time!)!

I think you'll have an easier time getting them at 180 days, rather than the 90 days. So I don't think I'd bother getting up at 3AM!

It appears that the only place in our whole county that has the vaccine is the health department. And they like to try to tell me that I can only get it there if I don't have health insurance. Bull.

I'm hoping the 180 day thing will make it easier for me. There are three I REALLY want to get at the times I want them.

Getting up at 3 am every day would make me & my whole family miserable!! There's no way!! I'll just keep the computer right by the bed - roll over when DH gets up early, make an ADR, then roll back over and try to sleep some more? :confused3

Imagine living on the west coast and having to deal with the ADR window :( That is one thing I am dreading about our next trip.

That sounds like a good plan.

I didn't have too much trouble getting the times I wanted at 90 days. Most were within 15 minutes of what I wanted, a few were within an hour. Which throws things off a bit, but it will be okay.

Good luck! :goodvibes:wizard:

I just read their info online and it says that people with insurance should go to their healthcare provider, not to the health department. Which is a lot different than what they told me when I called the info line. But it's still too bad...'cause I'm going there anyway (unless the girls' doctor gets the vaccine in by Friday)! I don't care if I have to pay for it at this point! :sad2:

What about drugstores and Targets in the area? I've heard that those are some of the only places you can get shots these days.
