Just wanted to share:
On Sun 3/4, my 1st ever solo trip begins:thumbsup2
Line a mile long at the ME counter to check in! I thought I'd be there forever, nope I timed it, 10 minutes!!!!!:thumbsup2
Of course some jerk behind me grumbles ''well, this isn't magical, they stick me in a line, and I had to pay for this'':lmao:
I wanted to turn around and say, you don't like lines, what are you gonna do in WDW? And you big dummy it is free:rotfl: But I kept my mouth shut..
I had no wait for my SSR bus at all...They put me on the one that was sitting right there,no wait off we went!!!!
Got to SSR about 3, room not ready, had lunch, room ready at 4:05, went to my room, was just about to get changed to take shower, and there was a knock at my door w/my luggage!!!!!
Very good experience!!

I've used ME for my past two trips...I don't have a single complaint about the service (kinda bummed that they pick you up SOOO early for your flight but I understand why they do that)

Thanks for posting, always nice to hear the positive.

We have an extended family trip in September. I am flying in a couple days earlier than my parents nad my brothers (with their families). I am putting them on DME. But on the way back to the airport, we will be renting a limo or a van. Much easier for us that way. We will have to check our own luggage, but won't have the extra scenic tour od WDW resorts on teh way to MCO :lmao:

:) My husband and i went for a quick solo trip to Disney 3/9-3/11. Used ME both ways.
Got off the plane at 9:30am. It was around 9:45am by the time we started waiting in the very short line for the Poly bus. We were on our way a little before 10am. The bus driver was great. Very funny, he made the trip start out very magical. We were the third stop after WL and contemporary. We were in line checking in by 10:45am.
On the way home on Sunday our flight left at 7:30am so our ME time was 4:45am. I thought that was a little early. The only problem was we were sitting waiting for a bus and a taxi driver pulls up. Says somthing about picking up two people and i said we are waiting for the ME bus. He then comes over with our name on a piece of paper saying he is supposed to take us to the airport. Valet CM did not seem to know what was going on when i asked him if this was for us. But the driver wanted our paper work and had ME paper work on us so off we went. So i guess if you leave that early there is a chacne you will get a taxi.
We would defiantly do this service again. Very fast. We did not check luggage so i don't know about the time on that. :)

We usually rent a car, but this time we chose to do ME. Does everyone ride the same bus and they make stops at all the resprts or are there separate buses for each hotel?

They make stops...They vary depending upon how many people they have going to what resort...When I've stayed at SSR, for example...Once I was on a bus that stopped at OKW, then SSR, then it was going on to FW...Once it stopped at POFQ, POR, OKW then SSR...And this past trip it went OKW, SSR, then it was going on to POFQ, POR.
HTH

When you check in at the DME Welcome Center at the airport, they'll show you which bus queue to get in. Each bus will hold guests from between one and four resorts. It'll never be more than four. Two or three are more common, one and four are pretty rare.

There's no way to know which resorts you'll be grouped with that day, or what the order of drop-off will be.

Thanks Athenna and CleveRocks. I didn't know what to expect when we got there. Now at least I have an idea!

You don't have to take DME back to MCO in order to precheck your bags at the resort. As long as you are flying out on one of the 'participating' airlines, you can check your bags and get your boarding passes. You will have to do it at least 3 hrs, but not more than 12 hrs., before your flight.

We did DME at Thanksgiving 2006. Got in on NWA on Sunday morning(only thing I noticed was the DME people by the bus lines seem to run around like chickens with their heads cut off, like should we put SSR & POR people on which bus?) But other than that we didn't have any problems, luggage arrived 3-4 hours later(within the hours we were told). DH liked being able to check the bags in at the resort and get boarding passes.

Not sure why people keep ragging on DME, in the paperwork they tell you it's about a 4hr wait for your bags(pack essentials in carry-on) and they will pick you up 3hrs before your return flight. It worked for us and will be using it again in May.

We use ME November of last year and I thought it was great. There was a short line (10 minutes, if that much) at the check-in desk, then maybe a 5 minute wait for the bus. Definately a good thing!
