A POFQ quick review.

We arived last Wed around 10 am. Check in was VERY quick! Our room was not ready, but they checked our bags and we were off to the parks in less than 15 minutes. When we returned that evening(around 7:00), they told us our room number and we were in. I did not request any particular room. They put us in room...this is a HARD one to remember ..1234 It was the farthest from the Main house, but only a 5 minute walk, it had a nice view of the river and gardens, and was very quiet. We called for our bags and they were delivered in 10 minutes. After we decorated our window with Christmas clings & LGMH's The kids wanted to swim, so we were off to the pool. The pool area was nicly themed ...BUT..some kid ...ummm CADDYSHACKED the pool and we ain't talkin' Baby Ruth here! POOL CLOSED! So EVERY kid was in the hot tub and kiddie pool. UNTILL, and I kid you not, the BABY pool was CADDYSHACKED! So now both pools are closed for cleaning and the hot tub is overflowing with kids, one of those with a serious problem! We went back to the room! Found the rooms spacious enough for a family of 4. The beds were comfy. Minimal noise from surounding rooms. Much better than our stay at POP.The grounds were nicley kept. The food court was never realy overcrowded when we were there. We always had prompt bus service and we were always 1st picked up and 1st droped off. I hung out at "Scat Cats" one night and the gentlman playing was very good. The kids did get to use the pool eventually, and us adults the hot tub. My only issue with POFQ is the constant playing of only 3 songs the ENTIRE stay. A jazzy version of Go tell it on the mountain, It's begining to look a lot like Christmas and the third slips my mind right now! By the end of our stay we HATED these songs! No issues checkin out, they stored our luggage, as we had a 6:00 pm flight, we went to MGM, and had no problems. Overall we liked this resort better than the values, although after a vote we liked Royal Carribean Beach a little better.

Thanks for the quick review. Been researching POFQ this morning and thinking about changing our April\May rezzies from POP to here. In the past year we have stayed at Movies and CBR. Enjoyed both, but actually did not care for the sheer SIZE of CBR. Way too much walking just to get a morning cup o' Joe.

We have never stayed at POP, but figured as this would be our 3rd trip in about a year, we would try to save a bit on the room again. I keep thinking about moving to a mod, and POFQ is first on our list to try.

Only one question for you. How was transportation? That's another thing we did not care for at CBR. While one bus serviced the resort, it seemed as though the waits were VERY long from our stop, and we always managed to be last fro drop off at the end of the day.

Ok, maybe one more. POFQ vs Orleans? For kids? Pool wise etc. which do you feel a 5 year old would enjoy more? Keep in mind this 5 year old wants to stay at the Grand Floridian, and enjoys that type of style over just about anything, LOL. (Now, if our pocket books only met her taste we would be set)!

I had no issues with Transportation. French Quarter was always picked up & dropped off 1st. Riverside had 4 stops but Several busses were POFQ direct, so they did not stop at the other resort.

Pool wise, if your kid likes slides he will love the POFQ pool. The hot tub is out of site from the pool however.

could not agree more with your review.

we have been there twice and going again in dec 08. best resort imo.

we stayed in building 3 and 5 pool view and had a pleasant stay.

Thanks! I'm still thinking on it, it'll be like $450 more for the week than POP, but I do like the additional room amenities in the mod's, and a few other things. Mmm, decisions, decisions, LOL.

Thanks everyone for all your great information and advice about POFQ (and I didn't even have to ask!). We are going to stay @ POFQ next December, and not I'm SO SO SO excited to go . I was a bit nervous about all the bad bus talk, but I think that with the time we are going (value time) I think we will be fine. And great suggestion about bringing your own Christmas decorations! I called about having one of their 4Ft trees in the room, and its over $300 and then another $50 to have it shipped to us back home. Obviously we wont be going with that option!

When I was a CM, there were folks that shipped (small) fake trees and decorations before their arrivals quite often. We brought one once when we were at DL, and it was nice to have for Christmas day!

Just got back. We loved the FQ. No problems with checking in, we checked in about 8 am. We didn't expect our room to be ready, when we got back about 3 it was ready. I know this is something little but we loved the ceiling fan!! Bus service was o.k., I wish the food court had choices like tuna,chicken salad, sandwiches already made up (kinda like pop does). Rooms were clean, loved the pool, and christmas decorations. I'm glad we spent the extra money staying there.
