A plea to traders

Hi,

Just a plea to traders out there....if someone sends you an e-mail regarding a post you have made, please try to respond within a day or 2. I have e-mailed several people about trades for this and that, and still have not heard from them. For one of them, it's been over a week! If the trade's been made, just say so! I hate this being in limbo.......Patience has never been one of my strong suits! <G> Ahh...I feel better now.

Chip & Dale, I understand what you are saying! Someone asked me to email them after chat over a week ago. I did - still no repsonse - very frustrating. The interesting thing is this person initiated a trade when they saw I was looking for a particular pin. Now I would probably hesitate to trade with this person.

I have been very fortunate with all my online trades thus far. Thank you to everyone!

It may also be that they never received the first email. I know my server is only about 90-95% accurate. If a couple of days go by, I'll send a second email just in case the other party did not receive my initial email or I did not receive a reply.

I don't usually complain . . . but I'm tired of those who think they are exempt from common courtesy.

If you receive an email, you should respond, even if the answer if "no."

I hear all the comments about sending a follow up, unreliability of email servers, etc. Been there, done that -- no response.

There are a few folks that just don't answer unless you happen to have something they want.

Well, I agree with JudithM. I can exercise silent retaliation too. I read their "want" posts and take silent satisfaction in ot responding, even though I have their desired pin for trade.

I prefer "all weather" friends to "fair weather" friends.

Now, here's my problem. I will meet some of these folks next week, in person. I guess I'll just walk the other way. I wonder how many other people may do the same. And, will our discourteous comrades even notice? I doubt it.

Robyn, when I said I would be hesitant to trade with this person, I was thinking about not even trading for the pin I want because it might take forever to get the pin. I like your comment about silent retaliation - their lose, not ours!

Keep in mind when everyone gets together next week (at the BIG pin meet) that not everyone will "like" & get along with everyone else all the time. It is one thing to "talk" to lots of people on the computer, but when they all get together there will be some clicks, etc. Just go with an open mind! Robyn, my comment isn't specifically for you, but your comments made me think of a similar situation several years ago. This is how a friend helped me understand better the group dynamics at the time. I hope this makes sense!

Recently I have sent out 3 or more emails and NO response at all. I wouldnt c
care if they just said I am sorry I am not interested in that trade at this time.
But when they act like you never emailed them, it kinda puts a damper on
trading.....boo hoo!! I realize I dont have much to offer right now, but you
never know what someone else will agree to, or want so why not try( within
limits of course)

The only plea I have for traders is that they P L E A S E copy and paste the names of the pins in their e-mails, not just the numbers!

It is unreal when someone quotes only the numbers corresponding to several pins and you have to go back and forth figuring out what the heck they are!!!

My puter can get slow, so that does not help me.
