If I test positive in Disney where is the best place to quarantine? I'm will probably want a motel room so I can sit outside of my room and enjoy some fresh air. I don't know of any reasonably priced hotels that have balconies.

In the USA you only are 'suggested' to quarantine for 5 days after the date of exposure. Aside from that, if you get a positive test...immediately get yourself another one. I was there in January and my DD got a positive when I got a negative and I was 95% sure she was also negative. There's a story but the short version... based on the testing we had done in the previous few days and what precautions we took I was pretty sure it was a false negative. I was right...got her a real NP swab and it was negative.

My husband also got a false positive when we were in California in the summer. It was a bummer getting that email saying he was positive and the rest of us were negative, and he was 100% fine. I went to the pharmacy and purchased 4 rapid antgen tests and he was negative for all 4. He got another PCR test the next morning we got the results and he was negative.

My entire family tested positive at Aulani and booked an airBNB for the 11 extra days. If you are nervous buy Covid Insurance (Manulife or Goose) - we paid $300 for our family plan (good for a year) and it saved us over $8000 in additional expenses. Most will cover $200 per person per day up to $2800 pp.

AirBnB's policy:
  • It is Airbnb’s policy that you (and all other members of our community) should not check into a listing as a guest or have in-person interactions with guests or listings as a host, if any of the following are true:
    • You are actively infected or have tested positive with COVID-19 in the past 30 days
    • You suspect you are sick or have been exposed and are awaiting test results to confirm or deny a diagnosis of COVID-19
    • You are showing symptoms or are concerned about possible infection of COVID-19
    • You’ve had close, sustained contact to an individual confirmed or suspected to be infected with COVID-19 within the last 14 days (Please note that Frontline stays are subject to different standards)

I had access to Interval Getaways, so I just booked a timehare for the week + 1 night at hotel by the airport. Per above, I also had the Manulife Pandemic Plan insurance ...which I'm still waiting for them to process my claim. I took 4 tests - I really had Covid :P (asymptomatic)
