Ok, finally back from Toronto and have some time! Gratz on the CRT reservation! Toronto was a lot of fun, except the hotel was awful. The actual rooms were great, but we landed at around 6:30pm and our rooms weren't ready. They were apparently being cleaned.
We decided to grab something to eat while we waited and checked out the hotel restaurant. The first item on the menu was $9 soup and it went way up from there, so off we went to find something else. You'd think that there would be something decent open at the airport in Toronto at 8pm, but all we found was a sub shop that was serving some very suspicious looking subs. I decided to bite the bullet and went back to the hotel to order a clubhouse sandwich for $18. The guys who bought the subs said that they had had worse subs, but weren't quite sure when. My clubhouse was pretty good, but not nearly $18 good. Internet service was also $18.49 per night. Crazyness! The actual tradeshow was quite good and the second night we got to have supper at the Hockey Hall of Fame, where I got to see my New York Rangers get stomped on by Pittsburgh.
Also got my picture taken with the Stanley Cup!
We had a stand-up comedian for the third night. He was on Just For Laughs and This Hour has 22 Minutes but I can't quite remember his name. Shawn Masomething.
He was very good though! The final day, they gave out the prizes! I won a digital SLR! An Olympus Evolt 420 worth around $600. We also were all given a $300 Kodak 10" digital picture frame, which I love! Added to that was a duffel bag packed with stuff like Bluetooth headsets, Altec Lansing cell phone speakers, flash drives and a ton of other stuff. Very, very cool! Can't wait to use the SLR in August! I would not have chosen Olympus for my first SLR, but it is actually performing extremely well!
So anyway, I'm in the middle of uploading a ton of pictures and in about 10 or so minutes, I should be able to start posting them! Really sorry for the long break in between, but I shouldn't have any more delays now! I am going to post every picture I have, good or bad, as I really want to have you all come along with us and see what we saw, in the order we saw it. Unfortunately, this does mean you'll likely see a million Epcot golf ball shots and a million castle shots, but you're going to have to deal with that!
DW isn't going to like this either, as it means she's going to have a lot more pictures of her posted! She can deal with that too!
