A note to everyone on this forum

...which is the real reason everyone loves this board - so many threads go off topic to BEER! :drinking1

Seriously, I've been amazed by how many new people have come on the Camping Board pre-apologizing for their questions.... presumably because they've been burned on other boards. :confused3

I think it's wonderful how much fun we have here, all while helping each other and sharing some great info. to boot.

Like I've said before, it's the best place to be if you can't actually be AT the Fort. :thumbsup2

I saw about 20 fishing boats in the Niagara River this morning and thought about you.

I wonder if Pete will show up here (the other Pete). :lmao:

i'm still holding a grudge after the cranky moderator took away my worthless moderator powers...... this Pete seems ok, at least he's got a cool name.

I had chicken tonight, and I got to thinking - I had two chicken breasts, which means one chicken gave it up for my dinner. The other three people also had two chicken breasts each, so three more chickens. I wonder how many chickens give the ultimate sacrifice in America alone every day? Did I tell you I had a Labatt's beer with dinner? It was good. What the heck were we talking about?

What a way to start the day!!! I love you guys, I am sitting here all alone laughing like a fool. I needed that, THANK YOU!

I have to say it is really great to get some recognition from webmaster Pete, but after he reads this thread, he may change his opinion of us. :lmao:

Thanks for dropping by Pete!! I love this place too, and I love the DISBoards, and let's not forget our Fort Wilderness Travel Agent extrordinaire, RHONDA!!!!!!

I'm still in awe of the FUN we had last December at the Toy Story Mania event.

Fighting at rope drop just to ride it once in the morning, just seems like a major letdown now.

Thanks for the note Pete! I love the podcasts.

Somebody needs to let Pete and the other member of podcast crew who likes the Fort (is it Kathy?) know the next time we have a big Grand Gathering at the Fort.

Wow!!! A visit from Webmaster Pete is like a visit from God, himself!! We are honored!

I just finished the egg from the chicken who gave up it's life for Jim's dinner last night. The beer drinking will probably commence later in the day. Labatts is good. Molsons is good. Moosehead is better. I prefer Ice House & Wynottah loves Harps.

BTW Webmaster Pete - Wynottah Ottah is the camping board mascot.

We're coming to the Fort for the 1st time in August. The last time we stayed at AKL and it was deluxe and sooooo nice, I was kind of scared to stay at a campground :scared1: I do like camping, but I'm more of a resort girl myself. We are staying in a cabin, so its not like we're tenting it or anything. I was hesitant to book a stay at the Fort, but now that we are 5 its harder to find a place to fit us all and the cabin seemed like a good idea for space. We get the bedroom, the kids get the rest :rotfl: After being on these boards, getting a golf cart and having everything planned out I am soooooo excited now! 1,300 miles is a far way for camping, but I am kinda starting to be less excited about the parks and more excited about our stay  I hope to meet some of you in August, I have our green DIS sign all laminated and ready to go in my pile-o-stuff! (yes, I'm a little anal, packing already)

OMG!! He really DOES exist!! :faint:

Seriously, thank you for the nice compliments. The people on these boards are great. In fact, many of them have become some of my best and dearest friends. I'd trade some of my family for them! Oh wait, they kind of ARE family now. Ok then, I'd trade beer for them. But not my pina colada... :lmao:

Ummmm....
A. I'd like to thank Pete for the kind words - he is so right on - there are no better people than camping people, especially the ones here on the boards,
and
2. can we keep the greatness that is Fort Wilderness a secret? Just between us? It's hard enough as it is to get ressies during certain times of the year, lol.

Thanks!!

oh, and, yay for beer and chicken breasts! :thumbsup2

Thanks Pete!

I LOVE the Podcast! I just can't seem to get enough. It helps my day go by so fast at work. Keep up the awesome job Pete and the Podcast crew!!

Wow - we are definitely honored to have WM Pete visit us! And, Pete, you're correct -- everyone here is very special -- it's nice to see it recognized officially! :cool1:

Now that you've made all these new friends, Pete, be sure to stop by once in awhile and hang around! I know you're busy with everything else, including something that people keep mentioning -- a "podcast". :confused3 There's a podcast?

And, don't mind Gatordad -- he's hard on the outside, but soft on the inside--just like Gatorbaby Jason! :goodvibes :lovestruc

Awww, Rhonda called us special..... wait is that special, as in we are the greatest, or special like my beagle is special, he licks the window? :lmao:

I was thinking the same thing. Right about now I wonder if Pete is thinking what did I do??????:scared1::scared1::banana::banana::banana:

YEAH, we have been on that bus, too. we almost got kicked off that bus even with mom and dad (who are in their 70's) on it with us.

the best part was we took the "special bus" right after having dessert at whispering canyon. i believe one person at our table was picked on as dressing like darth vader, our dad was asked if he really felt he needed a refill on his malt, and mom.... well, let's just say mom got fed by the waiter by airplane...

yup, then we got on the "special bus"...

but, i think all the fort buses are special.... :thumbsup2

Pete, you might like the Fort now, but by the end of your next trip, you will LOVE the Fort. We are long-time DVC members, but we would rather stay at the Fort than any place else! I have learned so much by visiting this board...the Camping DISers are the best!

By the way, I love the podcast!

I second what Holly said, Pete! Since discovering the fort, I've kind of forgotten i WAS a dvc member, lol. So nice of you stop by and let us know of your newfound fav place in the "world", our very own fort wilderness.

Keep up the great job on the podcast. I have a bunch downloaded for the ride down on Thursday. Checking in to the fort on Sunday, woo hoo! Thanks for keeping us company with the podcast and for all you do here on the DIS!
