... don't let the warning scare you! My Mom almost didn't ride it because of the warning sign! The CM told us they don't know why it's up there, that it really isn't that bad, and now it's my Mom's favourite ride!

Enjoy! The seats don't move enough to give you motion sickness alone, so if it's bothering you, you could close your eyes. :thumbsup2

I love SOARIN', but there are parts of the ride that make me queasy if I don't close my eyes, in particular the end with the darkness, and all the car lights. I always close my eyes and open them again once we arrive at Disneyland (DD lets me know!) It's not the movement of the mechanical part of the ride, but the video that causes me problems!

I second Wazzo's post. I have horrible motion sickness and I only got a little dizzy in 2 places. All I did was shut my eyes for a second and I was fine. It wasn't the motion of the chairs, instead it was the way the camera moved when it was originally filmed. It's such a cool ride. It really makes you feel like you're flying. I'd hate for anyone to miss it because they thought it would give them motion sickness. I guess Disney has to be very careful nowadays so if there's the slightest chance that someone would get sick they couldn't come back at Disney and say they weren't warned.

I hate flying and I also get motion sickness. I was VERY apprehensive about riding Soarin' the first time. OH am I ever so glad I went anyway. I L-O-V-E that ride, it's my absolute favorite now! We rode 8 times on our last trip. To get the best ride/view, sit in middle car, front row center. After discovering this, we always asked the CM if we could wait for that car and we always got it.

I don't see why he wouldn't be able to ride it. There's a special strap between your legs that you put the seat belt through for little ones.

Soarin' has a HEIGHT requirement, not an AGE requirement.

Could a 3.5 year old ride Soarin?
Had a 4 year old ride with us. If she is too short get thoose shoes that raise you a few inches
As for the sea sickness the only part that got me was when it went near the carrier

He's 41" in bare feet. I'm guessing that's tall enough?

The offical WDW website says the height requirement is 40"!!

Yes that was one of my 3 yo's favorite rides. We were there at the end of August and he still talks about it! The height limit is 40 inches, so if he is 41 w/o shoes he should be fine.

I (like many of you) suffer horrible with motion sickness and wanted to so desperately try SOARIN'! As I approached the ride I noticed the warning sign and immediately got all anxious about riding it. So many of you on DIS said it would be fine and so I decided to listen to all of you and YOU ALL WERE SOOOO RIGHT!!! YEAH!!! I did it and I felt nothing. It was (in a word) AWESOME!!! I am so glad I read all the previous posts on DIS from all of you!!! And like you all said, if you get a little dizzy JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES!!!

The ONLY disappointment was the ride was TOO SHORT!!! I did not want to get off the ride. It is fabulous.

p.s. Try to get the front row. Those are the best seats!!! :Pinkbounc

Rode Soarin on Feb 9 and loved it. The lines were long so used fast pass and had a short wait. The movie was great. You felt like you were in the pictures.
The warnings are a bit overdone and if you feel dizzy just have to close your eyes for a second. A not to be missed ride! :goodvibes

I'm a huge baby when it comes to "thrill" rides, but I love Soarin!! I have to say though that I talked someone into going on and she hated it! It made her sick and I felt so bad. She will never go on again. As everything, this ride will vary from person to person. Sometimes the best thing is for someone who knows you really well to go on first and "test" it for you. Even then you may not like it. But as others have said, just close your eyes.

You would think... LOL My DD is 40" exactly in bare feet - was measured twice the week before our trip because she had penumonia. 40" solid. We went to take her on Soarin and she was too short (even though she had ridden TOT just fine hours before and was a good 1/2" taller than the measuring device there) - Went back to the hotel - switched her from her flip flops (with a 1/2" base) to her sneakers went back to Soarin and she was ok to go.

There's no way their 40" measuring device there is actually 40" LOL :)
