A No Snooze Bar Christmas, Harry & Mickey are Waiting..it is done

I can't believe how much fun going digi has been! I should have made the change years ago (now what do I do with all my traditional stuff :confused3 that is taking up an entire closet). I actually have pages completed!

If you know you won't use it again, try to sell it on Ebay or Criagslist! Make some extra Disney money!

I am so sorry that the dessert you wanted was not available. I think they are the only reason I want to dine there this fall. I eat so much pizza and pasta... I really do not want to eat it while on vacation. (hence why I have never been to Via Napoli) The food does look yummy though...

I bet we could make a, ADR and just order dessert!

Very very cool that Goo was a participant and I love the recreation of that painting.

Did the kids get Miyuki to make them a candy? That is super super special!!!

I love Morocco too. I know it is a place I will NEVER go so I love to linger here.

Lost in Translation

With my touring plan finished for the day, we head back to the BWV where the kids are anxious to get some time in Luna Pool (and looking at the weather forecast this might be the last day where it is warm enough to even consider swimming). The kids and Jeff enjoy a little pool time,

3kidsinpool.jpg

2elepahnt.jpg

2jocomingdownslide.jpg

while I enjoy a little nap and make a decision about the rest of the day and evening before joining them pool side. Swimming finished the plan is to head to DTD to explore the shops. Jeff has been telling me for months that he wants to go and check out DTD because his cousin said it was so neat…mind you I can not figure out why on earth he wants to go to DTD because I keep telling him it is shopping and crowds, 2 things he hates. But I give up trying to explain to him (lost in translation) about DTD and decide to show him.

1bus.jpg

The bus ride seemed endless and I am not sure why, because there were no stops between the BW and DTD. I decide that we are going to get off at Marketplace and then catch a water shuttle to the Westside and then walk back to the Marketplace.

1marketplace.jpg

1tshritfun.jpg

The line for the boat was long (we waited for about 45 minutes or 3 boats) and as we get to the front a family apparently from India decides that they need to be on the boat NOW and decides to bypass the entire line and go directly to the front. The CM tries to explain to them that they have to wait just like everyone else who had been waiting, but they will not take NO for an answer. From what I could make from the converstation was that they had spent way too much time at DTD and they had flights leaving apparently really soon and their car was parked over at SS. The CM tried to explain that it would be faster to grab a taxi because the shuttle would take atleast 30 minutes. I think the whole conversation was lost in translation somehow and in the end the CM gave us the look and we gave him the look back and let the family of 10 on in front of us. The CM thanked us several times for being so gracious, but hey what do you do…throw a fit at Disney (yep, you do but that is my next visit to DTD).

1boat.jpg

2balloon.jpg

The boat trip to the Westside was enjoyable, until the family kept pleading to be taken to SS first but the captain told him that he had to follow procedures. We were very thankful when we got off leaving the drama behind. Of course, I should have known that family drama was about to erupt when Boo spots a building that he recognizes from the tour books and wants to go in.

2quest.jpg

Jeff says, why not for which he gets the evil wife stare (which is not lost in translation). Why Not? Goo is too little for most of what is inside and I really do not want to deal with his disappointed. Of course then Jeff understands my reasoning and tells Boo maybe next time we come (next time, does that mean my once in a lifetime is not that?). We continue to walk down the street stopping in a few shops here and there until we stop the Candy Cauldron and step inside to see if they have those cake pops I had seen pictures of…and of course they do so we use a couple of snack credits and share a little treat.

2candy.jpg

2cakepop.jpg

As we get closer to the Flight of Wonder, the kids ask if they can go on.

3ballon.jpg

I had already planned to do so, until we see that the wait time is over and hour and THEY decide that they are not waiting that long. Goo decides that he wants a churro, and of course my husband loves to snack on treats so it was Churros for the 4 of them…supposedly they are the best in Disney according to their sign...

3churro.jpg

which I think was lost in translation, because we were not that impressed. We then cross over into Pleasure Island

4paradise.jpg

and by now it is dark and the place has really erupted crowd wise. I can tell that Jeff is not too impressed at this point with DTD. I explain that Westside is a lot of places to eat, Pleasure used to be the night spot but that is changing, and the marketplace is more shops. Finally back into the Marketplace area we come to a place the boys are dying to go into…

I'm trying to catch up on trip reports.

I LOVE the way you have set up your chapter links. Very organized. I am up to Yak and Yeti-

I have been forcing myself to keep that post up to date to make it easier...just part of my OCD personality...have to be organized, but dont look in closets! :rotfl:

It looked like a fabulous meal- great food porn.

Taking pictures of food seems to be hit or miss for me, I can't figure out the settings for it...and by the time I do the family wants to eat...

We ate there in Aug 2008, but we haven't been back. It was good, but we usually find ourselves at Boma on AK day.

I missed BOMA twice now on 2 different trips...someday I am going to get there!

Lily was being anti-social when we were there wouldn't come out of the cave :(

I thought about that when I was reading your TR...we got lucky is what right at the window for a lot of the time, but kept her back to us...

Sorry you missed the parade

luvin all the updates

Very very cool that Goo was a participant and I love the recreation of that painting.

Did the kids get Miyuki to make them a candy? That is super super special!!!

She asked them what to make and Ab said a dolphin and she made it...we only got to see about 1/2 of the show...

I love Morocco too. I know it is a place I will NEVER go so I love to linger here.

It is a neat place and I would love to go to the real place...but too scared!

Ha! "Lost in Translation" :rotfl:

That was super kind of you to let that family go ahead. I imagine if they had miscalculated how long they needed to get back in order to caught DME for their flight...they must have been pretty worked up and in "do what it takes" mode to get back. Still... as much as I can sympathize with how stressed they must have been... really? jump to the front of the line? :confused3

And "next time" :woohoo: I hope there is one for you :goodvibes

Today I have the day off...so of course I have parked myself in front of the computer to work on some scrapbook pages! :woohoo:

It looks like you guys had a great time in EPCOT!! I'm so glad your son got picked to be a part of the little show they have in Italy! It looks like he took his job very seriously!! :)

Can't wait to read more!

A Lego Explosion, Almost a Mom Explosion

Nearing the Marketplace the boys immediately know from the guide books they have seen that one of their favorite stores is just around the bend...the Lego Store. We take a few moments to admire some of the statues

1lego.jpg

1lego2.jpg

before heading inside to the chaos, which is just about too much for me. It looks like a bomb has gone off inside....kids running and screaming everywhere, legos all over the floor, as well as packages just thrown where ever when some decided to not purchase the item. There are so many people inside that I know that this is going to be a pleasureable experience. Goo finds the bins of legos to play with (and convinces big sis to help him build)

abhelpsjo.jpg

while Boo goes around the perimeter making notes of things he wants to buy. After about 15 minutes in the chaos, we all decide to leave and come back later in the week when we can look and enjoy the store (when am I going to fit that in my plans). We exit the Lego Store and find the World of Disney Store next,

1sign-3.jpg

which despite the crowd seems almost empty thanks to the size. The boys spend time trying on hats, but don't find that special one that mom has promised to buy (all kids need a Disney Mouse Ears Hat).

As we leave, I spot

and ask if anyone wants a Sundae?

Love your updates and the digital scrapbook updates!!

Ok, I hate to ask, you topped me again, what is a zeppole?

That spot in Morocco with the "window" never stumbled across it. Another thing to search for!

Lost in translation, hahaha.

Love your updates and the digital scrapbook updates!!

Thanks...each time I post a scrapbook page I find the little flaws to go back and fix

Ok, I hate to ask, you topped me again, what is a zeppole?

They are these little fried dough balls served with whipping cream and chocolate...

That spot in Morocco with the "window" never stumbled across it. Another thing to search for!

It is all the way in the back corner near the Aladdin storybook and the marketplace

Lost in translation, hahaha.

:rotfl:I know...

There was nothing else that you could have done but smile and let them go...I am sure they ended up missing flights. It was rush hour time on top of needing to be at the airport 2 hours plus for international flights.

I hope the Zeppoles when we go in November!!! I am nervous now, becasue we are going during Thanksgiving!! Oh well, everything looked so good! I'm so excited to eat there now!

I hope they are there too for you. I downloaded the recipe, but it is just too much work to make a batch. We loved the meal...

It looks like you guys had a great time in EPCOT!! I'm so glad your son got picked to be a part of the little show they have in Italy! It looks like he took his job very seriously!! :)

Can't wait to read more!

He had so much fun doing it!

Trying to get caught up on your report. I could use the links but I love readign the banter, so I am just going to comment up to the AK parade post.

Loved your pictures from the trail in Asia. I can't walk by the Komodo dragons without thinking of the movie The Freshman with Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick. There's one for movie night! Don't know what you would serve, though. Beautiful tiger picture!

The secret picture trail, by the Tree of Life is such a nice peaceful place in AK. It has not been crowded when we have been there. How was it for you?

I have 3 Mr. Grumpy pants when it comes to shows. Haven't seen Lion King in a few years and we only got to go because we bribed the boys. With the trip we had already booked to Disney. "We will take you to Disney IF you promise to see FotLK and Finding Nemo!

Thanks for sharing the parade secret. My family doesn't watch parades either! To be honest, they are not even big on fireworks.

Regarding your reluctant crew. Was there a PPP? A Parade Planner Pout?

I agree with other posters. Amazing pictures of the kids at the AK tree. And with the party hats on NYE!!!

Glad you made it over to my beloved Beach Club! Sounds like the meal was decent but didn't blow you away. The first time we ate there was on an arrival night and we were too exhausted to fully appreciate a buffet. The next time we went it was mid-week during our trip, and we enjoyed it much more.

The fireworks shows from your balcony. WOW!!! Just WOW!!!

3 Boys, 1 Store...The Best Store Ever

No one wants to take me up on the ice cream offer. Who is this family I am with, ice cream is their thing :confused3. There is a lot happening on the stage but I spy no empty seats and I am really not wanting to stand so instead I know what the next store is...and the boys can't tell from the outside because it looks like an athletic store with a Disney Flare (Team Mickey Athletic Club) and they are not too interested in it. But being the one with the plan, I suggest we go in and look, maybe we will find something. I take them to the back of the store and all 3 of my guys eyes light up...RIDEMAKERZ, the reason I have been having them save their money.

1sign-4.jpg
Ridemakerz is a supercharged interactive experience that lets kids of all ages dream up, build and customize their very own radio controlled car or truck. Pick a vehicle body, chassis, wheels and tires and accessories like a spoiler. Use the in-store workbench to assemble your ride and take your creation for a spin on the store's test track.

They want to know if they can do it now, and of couse I say now because honestly I am not sure we will make it back to DTD. The boys go in search of the perfect body and accessories knowing that they have the money to spend....because mom had sure they saved until this time (thanks Aimee for the heads up on the prices).

2shopping1.jpg

2shopping2.jpg

Jeff of course has to get in the act too and try to suggest to the boys which parts to "hot rod" their cars out with.

2dadhelps.jpg

I think this is the first store my DH has ever really fell in love with (besides Bass Pro/Cabelas). After picking out the the right things, they then build their cars

3aaronmakes.jpg

4jomakes.jpg

and off to test them out (and with Goo in the test pit, it was more like crash up derby styple which of course got Boo upset and Jeff trying to help and making the little guy mad).

3aarontestdrives.jpg

4jotestdrives.jpg

5familyaffairtest.jpg

Then the cars are boxed and the boys are ready to go back to the room to test them out more!

6purchases.jpg

But not before Mom, gets a little shopping trip of her own (but what I am shopping for is for them...)

:woohoo:
Trying to get caught up on your report. I could use the links but I love readign the banter, so I am just going to comment up to the AK parade post.

:rotfl: I have not been doing a lot of life updates on the TR, not sure why...so the banter is pretty much not there.

Loved your pictures from the trail in Asia. I can't walk by the Komodo dragons without thinking of the movie The Freshman with Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick. There's one for movie night! Don't know what you would serve, though. Beautiful tiger picture!

I guess I don't know that movie....:confused3

The secret picture trail, by the Tree of Life is such a nice peaceful place in AK. It has not been crowded when we have been there. How was it for you?

There was no one else on the trail...it was great!

I have 3 Mr. Grumpy pants when it comes to shows. Haven't seen Lion King in a few years and we only got to go because we bribed the boys. With the trip we had already booked to Disney. "We will take you to Disney IF you promise to see FotLK and Finding Nemo!

As much as I enjoyed the shows, I probably will skip them next time....

Thanks for sharing the parade secret. My family doesn't watch parades either! To be honest, they are not even big on fireworks.

Not big on fireworks...now that is something I wont miss!

Regarding your reluctant crew. Was there a PPP? A Parade Planner Pout?

A little one...:rotfl:

I think if I do a clam bake again...it will be a real one in New England!

The fireworks shows from your balcony. WOW!!! Just WOW!!!

Yep, WOW!

Miss that store!! Great cars the boys made! Now it's in a little spot at the Mickey Sport store at the Market place.

Miss that store!! Great cars the boys made! Now it's in a little spot at the Mickey Sport store at the Market place.

I know...I wish it was still in that big building down by Disney Quest...I loved all the hot rod cars that they had inside and know my boys would have loved it. Where it is at now it is a little cramped and hard to get around when there is a lot of people. We were lucky, the crowd came in after we were just about finished...the store clerk told us that we helped to draw a crowd with the boys making there cars. They love their cars!

So sorry to hear the bug got to you!!!

What a trooper. But M:S Orange? Seriously? I'm glad you didn't suffer the same fate my son did there!

Your meal at Via Napoli looked spectacular, despite the dessert disappointment.

Looks like you had some fun in the World Showcase. We NEVER spend as much time as I would like there!

May I say how nice it is that your kids are so cooperative in getting their picture taken together.

Downtown Disney is not my favorite place. Getting there is a major pain using the Disney buses from any resort on property. Getting back is even worse! (I devised a plan where my family takes one of the resort boats then we take a bus from there to EPCOT before returning to the Beach Club)

Disney Quest is DEFINITELY not my favorite place. The Lego store is cool- my boys love it. I have not been to Ghiardelli, that would probably influence my opinion of DTD in a positive way.

It sounds like RideMakerz was a winner with your crew!!!

And I'm all caught up!!!
