*A New Year, A New You ~ Summer Dieting Thread*

Well done ladies. I'm 2 lbs down this week, although my official WW weigh in is tomorrow. Again, can't make it, as we've just found out we have to cancel our short break to Dubai, due to husband having eye operation, so we are hotfooting it up to Thomas Cook to see what money we can get back. Oh well, I think it counts as exercise!!!

Was up 3lbs! But only back off hols so it's an acceptable trade off. So now it's time to knuckle down. I have no plans now until August when are friends are getting married so that's my motivation. Want to lose between 14 and 18 lbs for it.

Weighed in today and have lost another pound - I reckon it might go a bit slower now but hopefully will keep going. 5 to go to get to target.

PLEASE INSPIRE ME TO DIET!!!! I really need to lose a stone by 12th July. Its DB sisters wedding and I feel like a porker. I have a nintendo Wii and have bought it downstairs. I have been off work with stress so I have been picking a lot hence put 8lb on!!! SW does not work for me at all WW did on the simple start so I am going to start that again today. I find it hard to lose weight. My DB loses and does not need to. Anyone have any tips on ways to kick start without starving myself? Im currently 14st 9lb and want to be 13 target. Thanku x

I've been doing simple start and just trying to cook from scratch and avoid takeout. I still have a glass or 2 of wine at the wkend so that I dont feel deprived and give up. It is slow going though but at least it's going down in lbs not up ;) Good luck and keep your chin up :goodvibes

Count calories. Eat 1500 calories per day. Think of it like a bank, if you don't have it to spend then you can't have it. Weigh and count everything and be 100% honest about what you eat. If you feel hungry have a cup if tea or water, keep sugar free jelly in the fridge to nibble on if you want something sweet.

It is hard, but if you feel like giving up, remember why you want to do this. I weighed 15s 2lb in Jan 2013. I am now 10s 7lb and just 5lb away from target. I've tried every diet ever written and in the end whether it's called a syn, point or a check, it all comes back to calorie control. I never thought in a million years I would do this, but I have. So can you. Oh, and I don't exercise either..... Good luck x

Thankyou for your advice. I do find it hard to weigh everything due to my job as a district nurse im out and about and although I take things I sometimes get hungry and grab the nearest thing. Its no excuse I know. Im not going back to WW as I have all the stuff. The points thing did not work well im sure it does but as you say its all down to calories. The other plan must work for me as I did lose on it. Im not one of these that has big weight loses. Well done for losing so much weight. Im in my early 40's and I think as u get older it gets harder. Hormones hey. Will get some jellies as never thought of buying those. Im not a big fruit eater but do like grapes and bananas. I will let you know how im doing. I think reading others stories and tips helps so im going to report here everyweek at least. Thanks ms poppins and to the above poster for ur advice x
 
A half a pound on for me this week. I really must buckle down now. I've made myself a weekly meal planner and a diary from now to Christmas with a projected weight loss per week and actual. I can see it in black and white then, if I am meeting my own targets.

I forgot to say, the biggest thing is to be organised. Take a packed lunch if you can and leave money at home so you're not tempted. I find that if i'm not organised and then end up out somewhere it all goes to pot. And write it all down, every day.

Well done u must be so pleased. Well i have done nearly 6 days now but yesterday was my friends birthday. I was quite good but ended up having one of her famous cupcakes. Anyway i have only just batteries for the scales but Im not going to start my weigh in loss till a week today. I know I have lost around my hips so its working.
Just having sugarfree jelly with fromage frais.

Yum, love the sugar free jellies - I've been eating them a lot this week. Keep on, you are seeing the measurements going down, that's better than a result at the scales!

Stayed the same this week - despite almost passing out on the treadmill on Saturday and Sunday :confused:

So, I think I'll stick with the no exercising routine I've been doing until now ;)

Julie, I know what you mean about treadmills and excising! I have a new programme at the gym, three days a week with 50 mins of cardio and two rounds of 8 machines lifting over 3,500 kilos. I'm like a dead dog and all I managed was half a measly pound this week! Oh well, at least it's the half pound I gained last week! I sure hope that better results come next week!

Well its nearly 2 weeks now and I have still not weighed me but I went to get my wedding outfit today for 12th July and I got a size smaller in the dress I tried on before!!! With the hat bolero etc My boyfriends mom said I looked like a proud peacock. I had a mini snickers yesterday and 16 pringles. First cheat. The carrots and houmous sugarfree jelly are a god send.
To the OP above this was one reason I decided not to weigh as I used to give up. I have just under 4 weeks till the wedding so im aiming for 7Lb off. Well done both of you x

Well its nearly 2 weeks now and I have still not weighed me but I went to get my wedding outfit today for 12th July and I got a size smaller in the dress I tried on before!!! No more exercise for me - not amused by it at all.....

No weigh in again this week for me - Allan had op on his eye and we are back and forward to hospital for check ups every day. Of course, he can't drive so I am taxi driver.

Really been 'off' it this last week. I wish I could get my head together.

Just back from my weigh in and another pound off this week - 2.5 to go. My class manager took a photo of me holding up my old work trousers in front of me. Really brings home how much i've lost when i see it.

I do not lose the first few weeks for some bizarre reason but I lose inches SO I weighed myself on tuesday so will now weigh weekly. If I do not lose I get very despondent so im trying a different tactic. Watch this space lol.

Well iv lost. 3lb this week and due on so im bloated. Ms P have u got to target u? Iv got 2 weeks till the wedding. I want another 4lb off by then.
