I knew that would get everyone's attention.

No way. I don't WANT another tune. "When you wish upon a star" is soooooooooo ultra-classic Disney.

Just imagine for one moment, which other Disney tunes would sound so cool too.

I think 'A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes" is so pretty too.

Which other Disney tunes come to mind? (just in your imagination!)

Please don't ever change 'when you wish..

how about the song in peter pan you can fly? i love that song!but they could make it slower!or it's a small world or be our guest or ohhhh this is a good one a whole new world from aladin but don't change the current one

I have to share one of my family’s favorite memories about the Disney horn.

We were on a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise. It was Tuesday afternoon around 4:30 P.M.; we were leaving St. Martin and it was time to head back to the ship.

At the dock was our ship and a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. The RC ship was leaving before ours so their horn let out with a long, monotone, boring noise. Our crew was obviously ready to sail too and responded in kind.

When you wish upon a star had never sounded so sweet. Our crew obviously responded to the RC crews warning that their ship was going to be leaving soon. It was humorous how wonderful our ship’s horn sounded and pathetic how monotone their horn was.

The moment brought a huge smile to all of us who were boarding the “Magic”.

We can't wait to sail again in August

Imagination...a dream can be a dream come true...
But it would make me cry every time I heard it because it would make me think about what they did to my ride!

Hey - who says they have to have only one tune for the horn? I say, let's have a new tune for each of the port stops. FUN!
"WHen you wish unpon a star"
"M I C K E Y M O U S E"
"A dream is a wish your heart makes"
"Zippadee doo da Zippadee ay"
more?

The chorus from "A Whole New World" (just those words/notes).

Just A Spoonful of Sugar Helps the Medicine Go Down

IMHO - if it ain't broke don't fix it.....

It would not be the same if they changed it

but then they could be playing "Be our Guest" as you board and at the beginning of every meal. It would serve as a reminder to the "excellent" servers to strive to be excellent. NO COMPLAINTS from me on servers - it woulld maybe just flip that excellent speech on the last night back to those that seem to give it if they were reminded at the beginning of every meal what was expected- LOL

In the original thread I mentioned I would never want them to change it.

I just asked what other Disney tunes people liked and to 'imagine' what it would sound like on the horn.

I wouldn't change a thing about the Disney Magic. My DS9 and I have sailed her three years in a row and stayed in the same cabin each time. Each cruise has been great but also fun in a different kind of way. It seems there are so many changes constantly going on in my own life that it is refreshing to rely on our yearly Disney cruise for that special treatment that we remember and look forward to from year to year. I'm not saying that change is a bad thing, but we've all heard the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" And there certainly ain't nothing broke on the Magic!

Looking forward to another great Disney cruise in 2005!

When we were in Nassau, HAL's Maasdam was docked next to the Wonder. When the Massdam left port at noon, it sounded its horn - a low monotone. As is cutomary, the Wonder let go with its horn. The Maasdam then tried to do its own version of "When You Wish Upon a Star" with it horn. It was awful! The kids and I just started laughing it was so bad.

The Wonder responded once more with its own horn to put an end to the little horn competition.

One of my fondest memories is being in Key West watching the performers when the ship blew it's horn at Sunset and everyone cheered.
