Was playing fireworks yesterday (quelle surprise) and noticed a strange score. The leader after round one had over 50,000, and over 100,000 after level 2. I've played fw a lot and have never seen a score like that even when playing with Navimap or Arwenqueen.

I know there used to be that cheat that was used last year, maybe someone figured out a way to do it again. I hope not.

Anyone else seen a score like this...if so, it must be that I've been playing the experts on their off days...and still losing badly! :rotfl:

I am sorry to say that this is in fact a hack. The funny matter is that they clearly didn't use it on the second round.

My reasoning behind this..

47 total Fireworks, Level 1. Max Score 47,000
101 total Fireworks after Level 2. Max Score, 101,000

and so forth..

But maybe they got a different pattern.. VMK might have changed Fireworks, because the last time I read, these were the statistics.

I don't think it was a hack, just an outstandingly good fireworks player lol. I once played in game with someone who scored 47,000 something. It was not a clear 47,000. Thinking back to July, wouldn't it have seemed like a hack to see scores as high as they are today? I am thinking that these well game players are just raising the bar a little bit more. lol. Unless you saw something incredibly outstanding like 60,000 on the first round and 150,000 on the second, I would guess it isn't a hack. What also solidifies my theory here is the fact that someone who was hacking into the game wouldn't just stop after level one. It seems like most logic that if someone possibly found a way "around the system", he or she would not just use it on a level one game and conclude it there. Nah, I would just walk up to this person you played this game with and shake his or her hand with a congratulations in a game well played. :goodvibes

heh...kinda agree Loves Disney but if you look back at the all time scores on the fireworks page, there are scores above 330,000. So that logic does not quite equate! Those would look at today's scores and laugh!Admittedly those were probably indeed the hacks, and I have no doubt that they have changed fireworks since Beta (I've been on since day one but cannot remember! age you see!!).

I also congratulate every winner, there are way too many rude people on vmk!

I agree with Jimbob. I think that person's 2nd round score was a smidge under 101,000 so if the scoring system is the same, then that is possible and they had an immaculate game. Its also quite possible I suppose that it couldve just been another VMK glitch showing the wrong score. We can only hope that is so.

I was playing with a big time player and I had a near perfect first round score(first place, ahead of said big time player) and my score was 46430.... Of course he preceded to pass me up and score 286,000 points (to my mear 265,000) lol

Anyway there was 47 fireworks shot off in that first round...

Yesterday I noticed two different starts in fireworks -- does anyone notice any changes?

DH was playing last night and got a first round score of 48K and was really surprised by it- said he didn't hit them all flawless but did a good game then

By the next round he was scoring more normally and finished with 97k at round two and then I didn't pay attention to the rest- but I do know he hit 240k well before the 2nd round of the last level finished which he doesn't usually do.

Could it all have been a but yesterday- or could they have changed the fireworks scoring? DH was certainly not hacking anything- he was just trying to build up his credits

I can say there is a glitch with fireworks that I experienced last month while on the road. My connection was so slow that all of the games freeze for quite some time. In fireworks on several occations it would freeze when a dislpay was at its highest peak and if you hit it and continue to hit it you would get points for it. Some times the game would record the extra points and sometimes the game would then show a discrepancy between the bottom score and the round score. On my part it was not controlable and most of the time if the speed reached that slow it would dc before the end of the game. I can report scoring 75000 in the first round of play one time. I experience much worse freezes through the game however and it dropped me to like 215k by the end of the 4th round and dc going into the final round. Again, this was not controllable on my part, not munipulated, and I hardly ever finished a game like that but playing under these odd cercumstances has improved my game oddly enough. I am now playing in the 260 range often and under normal play when I try.

Yea Days, I have seen two starts, one starts with the blue and the other begins with the orange. Several variations also during the game, but I wouldnt imagine they would have that much impact on the score (famous last words!)...although having said all that....

Interesting with bearz and virtuallyme. I too always thought 47 was the max and there was no way anyone, no matter how good, could gain a half century. However, maybe there are other variations that shoot more fireworks, there must be to score 48k...but I am sure the game I saw the 50k had a normal level one which I have played countless times (isn't it sad when you get to know the entire firework routine!!). I missed one orange that first level and scored just under 44k.

Anyway, there must be some variation, and unless that 50k plus starts occuring more regularly than it should, I guess we are safe from the cheats

Just FYI- DH and I have played side by side in the same games and have gotten different fireworks patterns in our personal games although in the scoring we are in the same game.

I have also seen where we aren't in the same scoring list for first/second round but by the third round we do end up in the same list...

I think fireworks is just a fun but freaky game that sets out to confuse and befuddle the players by just changing all the time...

How else can you explain a game that it is better to lose than to win?

Hmmm, haven't there always been two different starts for fireworks? :) At least as long as I've been playing that game... which admittedly isn't that long lol.. but at least about a month and a half?

I also feel like sometimes it's a little different in the other levels, too, but... usually by then I'm too frantically moving the keys around to really tell lol :p

It's a filter. I don't use them, don't worry.

Edit: It was the same thing they used before, unfortunately they found a way to fix it to make it work again.

They are a hack, yes.
