A New Disney Obsession is Born!!

I haven't done ME yet, so what is the movie like?

That's so exciting to finally be there! The POP does look nice! That's great you got the building you wanted!

That online check-in sounds pretty easy AND convenient!

Geeze, you guys hadn't ate anything for a LONG time! :scared1: We love the Dining Plan. They just changed it either this year or last year, but before, each of us used to get an appetizer, entree, dessert, and drink! It was A LOT of food!

Yay for updates! Hope you didn't already answer this, but how did you guys get the free mugs?

Can't wait to read about your first park! :goodvibes

love the updates! sounds like your trip is going SO WELL so far!!! The same thing happened to me with the ME- the guy told me they didnt have my return flight information, even though I was pretty much 100% that they did. Freaked the hell out of me, when I actually called it turned out they didn't have it, so I just gave them the information and everything was A-Ok. I wonder if you go to MK first? Can't wait to hear more!

Thank you! Oh it was going amazingly! I actually didn't call then, I figured I'd call later during our trip. Ooo good thing you called! That could have been a problem! Hmmm you'll just have to wait and see where we go!

Oh it's such a cute movie! Kinda like an introduction thing. They have the characters riding ME, checking into the hotel, and visiting the parks. They go through what's new at the parks and just give some information. It's really cute and gets me even more in the Disney mood! Yeah, I think we were too excited/nervous (Ian on a plane) to really realize we were hungry but all of a sudden it hit us! What do you get now? I really don't know much about the dinning plan, we've only ever used it this trip and it was the quick service one. It was a lot of food just for the counter service meals!

We got the free mugs because we booked a package with a dinning plan (I think!) Haha, I got so confused because I think we also could have gotten them because we booked with AAA. But I'm pretty sure it was one of those. Sorry that wasn't very helpful! Ok lets try this again, you can get the free mugs if you book a package with the dinning plan or if you book with AAA (I think!) Probably an update tomorrow!

I forget...did you guys do deluxe dining? because i thought the mugs only came with deluxe dining? i think you did do deluxe...:confused3:rotfl:

Hey now don't make fun of my bad memory!! ;) We did the quick service one so the mugs must have come with booking with AAA.

Now it's just an entree, dessert, and drink.

That's still a huge amount of food!!

Loving the updates!

Did school start for you yet?

I'm doing my OB/peds rotation this semester.

Right now I'm preparing for the math test (fluid & calorie requirements for an infant) of which I have 2 chances to make 100 or I'm out. :scared1: So your updates are a welcome break!

Thank you! Yeah I started school on Monday. It's going ok right now but I haven't started working yet so I think it'll get a quite a bit harder after that! I'll manage though, it's only one semester! Good luck with your test! Ugh we had tests like that, had to get a certain grade. I hated those and they were alway math ones too! You'll do fine! I'm glad I can provide a little relief from studying! Updating helps get my mind off of things as well!

I love the room pictures! I'm so excited for our stay! (What's funny is I think I'm more excited about Pop than I was about the Poly 2 years ago!!! :rotfl:)

Love your TR. Can't wait to read more.:thumbsup2

Thank you and welcome!!

It IS a ton of food!

No kidding!! Most meals, I can barely finish my entree, let alone have any room for dessert!

I can imagine!! Dessert is my favorite part!!

Thank you!! Haha, I was so excited to stay at Pop, it just looked so fun and it was! We really really liked it! We would absolutely stay there again!

So we were on our way to a park, but which one you ask? Well I’m sure you can guess but I will tell you anyway! So we walked to the bus stops and on the way Ian took a picture of the luggage cart things. They were too cute, Ian really liked them. Here they are!

DSCN13032.jpg

So anyway we got in line for, guess which bus, the Magic Kingdom bus! Yes we were going to go to the Magic Kingdom!! Of course we had to go there, Magic Kingdom must be the first park I visit! Now the bus stop for Pop was different than what I was used to. I had always stayed at DVC properties or Deluxes so I wasn’t used to the different lines for each park, but I must say I liked it. It made it much more organized. I like the OKW bus stops as well, but that wouldn’t have worked at Pop where there are so many people waiting for buses, so all in all I think Disney planned very well when they set up these different bus stops. Ok so back to our actual day, we were waiting for the Magic Kingdom bus, and we only waited maybe 5 minutes. We got on the bus and we’re on our way! I was getting so excited! We arrived at the MK at about 3pm, so we were still right on schedule! We got off the bus and I was explaining to Ian about how before 9/11 we used to be able to just walk right up to the gates, there was no bag check and places fenced off. So we went through bag check and got to the ticket gate, oh I was so excited! So in we went with no problem, I forgot to explain to Ian about using the finger scanner but I guess he figured it out when I did it because he go in with no problem. We were in the Magic Kingdom!! Here’s a banner from their current celebration.

I also took a pic of the train, it was just so perfectly stopped there. I told Ian about Walt’s name being on the window there, I have a picture of it I took on another day, so I’ll post that then. But here’s the pic of the train at the train station.

DSCN1304.jpg

So we walked slowly down the square, both of us just taking everything in. Ian was just looking around everywhere, the look on his face was one of just amazement. We turned that corner and there it was, Cinderella’s Castle, MY Castle! I just stopped and looked at it. Ian was looking around at different things and didn’t see it yet, he looked at me and asked why we were stopping, I told him LOOK! He saw the castle and just went whoa. He really was just struck by castle, he loved it! He immediately wanted to take a picture of it, so here’s both of our pictures of our first view of my castle.

DSCN13062.jpg

So we slowly made our way down Main St., just taking in everything. I was also taking in Ian experiencing everything for the first time! He was just amazed at everything, and couldn’t stop looking around! So of course I had to get our first photopass pic. So we stopped and got our picture taken. Unfortunately it didn’t come out that well so we didn’t get it in our photobook but I’m going to see if Ian has it on his computer. So then we had to decide what we were going to do first. I had no plan for today. I figured we’d go on what we could and what we couldn’t we’d do another day. Ian had no idea what was going on, I asked him what he wanted to do and he said he didn’t know, he didn’t know anything that was here. Now I had been talking about Disney forever before our trip so he knew the names of rides and sort of which rides were in each park, I think he was just so overwhelmed by everything that he completely forgot everything I had told him. That was ok, I knew where things were so we went to look at the tip board. Well nothing really jumped out at me time wise so I decided to just head over to Adventureland and start that way. Well we were walking pretty slowly because we just wanted to experience everything not just rush past it. Well when we got in Adventureland we had to stop for a smoke break. Let me tell you something, it was HOT :headache: that day. I just think we weren’t used to heat and humidity because it had been pretty crappy in PA and we didn’t have any warm weather up there to get us used to the warm weather in FL! So anyway we were walking through Adventureland and he saw Aladdin’s Magic Carpets and he asked if we had time during our trip if we could go on it, I said of course because I knew Aladdin is one of his favorite Disney movies. Well I must tell you we did not get on this ride, just didn’t have the time! Oh well, we’ll have to go again then! So we were walking along and I saw…

DSCN1309.jpg

Pirates of the Caribbean! Of course that’s a perfect ride to go on! I looked at the wait time, 10 minutes!! Perfect! So we got in line. While we were waiting I was telling Ian how this line never used to have more than a 10 minute wait and then they had to go make a movie about it and now I’ve seen long lines for it! ;) I was joking of course because I love the Pirates movie! I don’t think we waited 10 minutes at all, it was a very short line. So then we went on and Ian loved it! He thought it was very cute. So of course we exit in a gift shop, which Ian found was at the end of just about every ride and we would joke about it the rest of our trip. We were fooling around in the gift shop, just having fun and Ian decided he wanted to be a Pirate. So here’s some pics of Ian being a Pirate. There’s a really good one of him later in the trip but here’s his first attempts at being a Pirate!

DSCN13072.jpg

Well I have to tell you a story, when I was customizing Ian’s basket I wasn’t quite sure what to put in it. So Betsy, from MemoriesbyBetsy, sent me some pics of the stuff from the park. I still wasn’t sure so I made up some excuse how I found these pics online and showed them to Ian. Well he liked this jar that was in the pics from The Nightmare Before Christmas. It was a Deadly Nightshade Jar, and if you’ve seen the movie you know what I’m talking about if you haven’t seen the movie the jar is in the movie at some point. Well Ian loved the jar and I was excited because I could put it in the basket, well when I emailed her about it she said that they discontinued it. :sad2: Oh no!! Well he now had his mind set on buying that jar. I kept telling him, what if it wasn’t there, ya know I don’t know when those pictures were from they could have been from a few years ago. Well he just had his mind set on getting it, well I knew that they weren’t selling them anymore. Well after he got his basket I told him about the jar and how they discontinued it. Well he was quite upset but kinda got over it. Well as we were in the gift shop after Pirates we saw some Jack Skellington stuff and wouldn’t you know what was on the shelf, the jar!! :dance3: Oh Ian was too excited for words. We immediately got in line and bought the jar and had it shipped to Pop. So Ian was happy, I was happy because Ian was happy and now it was time for another ride! We stopped for a quick smoke break and then headed on to Frontierland. Now if you remember Ian hates roller coasters. He said that he might go on BTMR so I figured that we could get a fastpass for it. As we were walking over and Ian saw the ride he told me that he never said he would go on it! Now I remember him saying this one was a possibility. Well I kept telling him that he said he would go on it and we finally got fastpasses for it for 5:20. Woohoo he was going to go on it!! So since we had a little bit of a wait we decided to walk over to Haunted Mansion! Yay, one of my favorite rides!! I told Ian how I always ride this with my dad and it would be weird that I wasn’t riding it with him but that I was excited that Ian was there! Oh I forgot to tell you I had been sending picture messages to my mom with different rides and of course the castle so I had to send one last one of the HM to her to show my dad, because I know it’s one of his favorites too and we always ride it together. Here’s a pic of the HM that I took with my camera.

DSCN13102.jpg

He liked HM, he thought it would be scary but I explained to him that it wasn’t supposed to be scary but I loved it!! Ian really liked it too even though it wasn’t scary. It was time for our fastpass for BTMR so we headed back over. We’re walking in line and Ian is getting nervous. He didn’t want to sit in the back because I accidently slipped up and told him that it’s usually a little wilder in the back. So I told him I would not request the back. Well as we were in line don’t you know it we got the second the last row in the back! Hey I didn’t ask for it, but I wasn’t going to ask for a different seat either! :rolleyes1 I know I’m such a horrible girlfriend! So we went on it and guess what, he liked it!! He didn’t love it, he said it was a little too jerky for him but he definitely liked it!! So we were talking and I got him to agree to go on another rollercoaster! I won’t tell you which one, you’ll just have to wait and see! So after that we decided to head back over to Liberty Square and went on this ride…

DSCN13112.jpg

I really wanted to see the Hall of Presidents because I knew they put Obama in and I wanted to see what changes then made. Well I didn’t know they had changed almost the entire show :confused3 But I must say I really liked it! I liked the changes they made! Ian liked it too, he thought it was a good show! So next we went on Ian’s favorite ride, It’s a Small World!! (Ok I know sarcasm is hard to get through when you’re reading something but that part about this being his favorite ride is sarcasm at its finest! He hates the song and only went on it because I asked him to and he’d never been on it before.) Now I love IASW, I know I’m one of those crazy people but I really do! Here’s some pics of the entrance part.

DSCN1312.jpg

DSCN13132.jpg

So Ian went it and survived. He said it was annoying and he would never go on it again. Hehe, we’ll see about that! Next we went to see one of my favorite shows, Mickey’s PhilharMagic!! I love this show, it’s so cute plus it has a whole bunch of Disney music!! Disney music is my favorite!! So we were waiting and there was no one in line! This is good and bad. I don’t like being too close to the doors that open because then you have to move all the way to the end of the row and I like being in the middle so I try and stay a little bit back but they were telling people to move in so I would “pretend” to move. Hehe, I know I could have just stayed where I was cause really who was going to yell at me but this was more fun! So after the show Ian said it was really cute and he liked it, so yes another ride that he likes, this liking Disney thing is getting off to a good start!! So after that we were hungry and it was about 7 something so we headed over to Pecos Bill’s for some dinner. I got the chicken wrap with a diet coke and just some pudding for dessert. I can’t remember what Ian got but it was probably some sort of burger or something and pudding and a coke. I was so happy that there was cheese sauce for the fries!! So we sat and relaxed and ate our dinner. I asked Ian how he liked Disney so far and he said so far he really liked it!! Yay!! After dinner we went to stake out a spot for SpectroMagic! I was so excited for Ian to see all the night time shows because I really liked all of them. So at about 8:20 we got a spot across from Liberty Tree Tavern on the rock wall that’s there. It was great!! We sat on the wall and waited for SpectroMagic. Here’s pics of Ian and I waiting, can you tell we’re both really tired!!

Since we took so many pictures of SpectroMagic and Wishes I’m going to leave that for the next update!!
