Hi everyone!

Here's an update:

Visited with the new cardiologist yesterday and he seems very thorough and we like him! ::yes:: DH is switching to him for cardiac care!

He found fluid in DH's lungs; not enough to hospitalize him but enough to send him to a pulmonologist for draining and examination of cause. At least DH's heart is okay for now.

It's a drive into Washington, DC which anyone (Brandi can vouch for this) who has visited metro DC can tell you is a traffic nightmare but that's where the best doctors are often found.

But the pulmonologist he referred us to is an insurance nightmare (out of network etc) so we have to start at square 1 today to find one who is covered. But we'll figure it out somehow!

I visited my mom on Sunday and she is doing much better. She is back at her retirement community and visited by nurses several times a day and goes for meals in the dining room 3x a day etc. covered by her additional insurance so she is being well cared for! One big stress lifted......

Glad you like new dr. and he found somewhat of the problem. Yuch on out of network. It is such major hassle but it is what it is and yes you will figure it out. Life is little bit easier knowing your mom is doing well and cared for. I know DC hassle but your better off going where DH will get best care. I live in NJ and traveled into NYC for my treatments. Eventually you just get used to the drive and figure out the best time to make appointmets. Thanks for the update and I think this is going to work out:thumbsup2

kathy,

I am glad to hear, that you and DH both like the new Dr. and it will great to have one you trust and understand.

Yes, traffic can be a pain, but it sounds like it is worth it.

I also am glad to hear that your mom is doing well.

Kathy, glad you are finally getting some good news!! Praying everything gets better from here on.

Kathy, I am so glad you got a good DR. That is a step in the right direction.

Kathy - Thanks for the update. Glad your family are getting good medical care but I hope you end up with a pulmonologist thats covered by your insurance.

Yes, good news is such a relief! :thumbsup2

We switched to a highly respected pulmonologist covered by our insurance but he can't see DH until Monday. The new cardiologist says that's okay for now and we feel safe because if something goes wrong we can take DH to the hospital and this cardiologist will handle his care from now on! Plus the diuretics have been increased and that has helped DH feel better as well.

Crossing my fingers, toes and saying my prayers!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts!
