A new Bump thread!

Thanks! DH needs it! He (and we) had a very rough night. He still hasn't slept decently for about a week and we talked with his doctor yesterday. His chest congestion is awful and the new antibiotic makes him nauseated with dry heaves. He can't sleep and he keeps all of us awake etc.

I want him to insist on seeing the doctor tomorrow with DS taking him since I have to go to work to help interview agents. We are beginning to think that the pneumonia has spread to the other lung and might be viral not bacterial since the meds aren't helping at all!

This has been a nightmare.....sick, stubborn DH who when on the phone with doctor was a different person saying that he was so much better than he actually was! Men!!!!

Kathy: so sorry. My uncle also had pneumonia around 6 weeks back and he had to go back to doctor as well. He needed extra round of antibiotics. I hope this is the case for your DH. Thinking of you!

Nope! You're right there....Very rare occurance. Lol. Well it wouldn't be Florida humidity but certainly different to what we are used to!

Hi everyone!

Thought I would update you on my absence....

Around 10:00 pm last night DH - John had surgery to drain 30 ounces of fluid from around his heart and remove/repair a bit of the wall around the heart. He is doing well considering.

He is still in recovery with a drain and will be moved to intensive care. There was no sign of pneumonia nor lung problems although the fluid may have come from a viral infection of some sort.

It's likely that he will be in the hospital until Thursday or Friday.

And to think his doctors were continuing to prescribe antibiotics for two weeks without an x-ray which would have shown the enlarged heart

As the surgeon said, we would have ended up at the hospital in an ambulance soon anyway because he couldn't breathe at all or worse......

I might be on the DIS later to update all but greatly appreciate the well wishes and prayers!
