Thanksgiving turned out very well for us! DH let us stay and chat with my family for several hours. It was just what I wanted and I thanked him. I also think he enjoyed himself despite his original misgivings.
I did overhear him telling his closest friend that he still feels sick but I really don't think that is so at all. He is up and doing things he normally does like cook, shop and play his online gaming stuff for hours.
DS gave him the new Amazon Kindle HD for his birthday last Tuesday and he is really enjoying that since he stays in the family room most of the day. His big computer and two monitors are upstairs. He even looks up recipes on his Kindle while cooking.
Kathy, glad to hear you got to spend time with your family.
I'm off to work here in a bit so won't be on the Dis til night now that I have a new computer at work. Be careful what you wish for, lol. It's not new just refurbed. And not by a professional........
example: they hooked up the "new" hard drive to my old monitor. Trying it out, couldn't get the @ symbol by "normal" means...."Oh" he says "It's an international keyboard!" I say, "It's the same keyboard I have always had."
He says, "Well now you have to hit shift & the " key to get the @".....and he proceeds to cut a tiny piece of sticky paper, draws the @ on it and tapes it to the " key for me .
So when he leaves I go into the settings & set it for the United States and take the sticky off the " key.
God help us all...
And thanks Susan! Yeah, watch out for the refurbs. Love the techie response to your problem I have to carefully listen to my agents' comments made to callers. Sometimes they say the wackiest things to a naive caller with a computer problem. One of them was blaming "Sandy" for the reason someone couldn't enter their hours on the electronic timesheet when it was because the person wasn't connected to the internet.
